How weight loss can transform your life.

Being overweight poses a lot of challenges , for example, High blood


pressure and risk of particular cancers such as; colon cancer, breast
cancer for women after menopause, pancreas cancer, ovarian cancer
and thyroid cancer .The linking factors between being overweight and
cancer are caused by problems such as, elevated levels of insulin,
increments of hormones that mess with cell growth, inflammation of
the body and abnormal blood vessel and cell growth .High blood
pressure becomes a risk to you because of excess fat around your waist
area .Therefore losing excess weight reduces your risk of cancer and
high blood pressure ,ensuring a healthier lifestyle.
Losing excess weight and maintaining a healthy weight can also reduce
your risk of disorders that affect your sleeping, making you less
productive as your energy levels are depleted. Disorders that can affect
your sleep include asthma, osteoarthritis, obstructive sleep apnea and
gastroesophageal reflux disease which are caused by excess fat on the
neck, chest or abdomen. Symptoms include feeling out of breath,
snoring, fatigue and headaches. Losing weight improves your
respiratory function and sleep quality ensuring your energy levels are
always boosted enough to get through daily activities efficiently.
Mobility, which is the ability to move easily and freely, is directly
affected by excess weight. Being overweight affects your movement as
it strains your joints. This could eventually leave you bedbound and
fully dependent on other people for simple things such as showering,
feeding yourself and simply moving around. Maintaining a healthy
weight takes pressure off your joints, especially your knees, ensuring
you can easily move around and carry out your daily activities much
freely.
Excess weight poses a threat, high cholesterol. High cholesterol is
caused by excessive and unhealthy eating habits that lead to obesity
that further leads to atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is whereby plaque
collects inside your body’s blood vessels and this leads to cardiac issues
such as heart attack, coronary heart disease, strokes and sudden
cardiac arrest. High cholesterol caused by excess weight clogs your
arteries making them hard and narrow which makes it difficult for your
heart to pump blood through. As you can see, a healthy weight ensures
a healthy heart and a happy life.
Transformation of life is directly influenced by your state of mind and
mental health. It is scientifically proven that being overweight is linked
to depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and low body image. Working
on losing excess weight is also working on your mental health, as you
will be able to feel more confident and empowered. Confidence and
empowerment bring about a whole new mentality as it changes your
views and experiences as you are present and not thinking much about
how you are perceived as daily activities become less stressful, tiring
and burdening for your mind.
As you have seen weight loss is not only letting go of physical weight
but mental weight which leads to a fullness of transformation.
