Adjective of Quality
• Read the following sentences:
1. Preeti is an intelligent girl.
2. Mohan is a rich man.
3. He has a black dog.
4. Sandeep is an honest boy.
• In the sentences above, the adjectives intelligent,
rich, black, honest tell us of what kind a person or
a thing is. These are called Adjectives of Quality.
Adjective of Quantity
Read the sentences:
1. She bought some rice.
2. The boy ate the whole cake.
3. She has much money.
4. She has little intelligence.
• In the sentences above, the adjectives some,
whole, much, little tell us how much of a
thing is meant. Such adjectives are called
Adjectives of Quantity.
Adjective of Number
Read the sentences:
1. I have four books.
2. Ten children are playing.
3. All men like sports.
4. Sunday is the first day of the week.
• In the sentences above, the adjectives Four, Ten,
All, First tell us how many persons or things are
meant. Such adjectives are called Adjectives of
Number.
