“Analyzing the Operation Management of Agrivet Business”

Chapter 1
Background of the Study
Introduction
The poultry business is substantially affected by disruptions in the feed

industry. The majority of feed components used in the domestic chicken industry are

sourced from China, including amino acids and vitamins. The implementation of the

lockdown policy in the nation resulted in heightened fluctuations in feed component

prices, hence causing a rise in production expenses within the cattle industry.

The AgroVet business model may be classified as either a single

proprietorship or a partnership, specializing in the distribution of Agro-veterinary

goods and provision of related services (Singh & Maharjan, 2017). The range of items

given include various agricultural inputs such as pesticides, planting seeds, and

animal meals. Additionally, the services provided include artificial insemination and

other related offerings.

The research done by Anyieni (2014) shown a positive correlation between

strategic planning and organizational performance. The presence of many strategies

poses challenges in establishing a clear correlation with the success of a certain firm.

According to Karatepe and Aga (2016), in order for commercial companies to

increase their performance, it is necessary for them to utilize operational strategies.

According to the findings of the research, strategies have proven quite helpful in

improving performance and accomplishing goals.

According to the research conducted by Rintaugu G. in 2013, the majority of

retail AgroVet businesses operate their operations on a manual basis. This method has

several limitations than its pros, which at advanced levels have led to the failure and
closure of most agrovet businesses. Some of these issues include the following: the

manual record keeping is unreliable because most of the important records, such as

receipts, get lost; poor analysis of the market and their demand levels; this has led to

an AgroVet business.

The purpose of this research sought to develop a method that is both effective

in its daily operation and capable of bringing about the kind of sound business

administration that is required by agrovet businesses.

Framework of the Study

This study is anchored with a theory on Administrative Management Theory.

The origins of administrative management theory can be attributed to Henri

Fayol during the early 1900s, and its continued relevance is widely acknowledged.

Fayol created a set of fourteen principles that he posited as the foundational elements

for robust and prosperous organizations. It is imperative to acknowledge that Fayol

concurred with numerous ideas and ideals put out by Taylor. Nevertheless, a

fundamental distinction arises in their respective emphases: Taylor prioritized the

optimization of work processes for maximum efficiency, while Fayol directed his

attention towards the overall organizational structure of a corporation.

Fayol's concepts encompassed several key aspects, including as the

establishment of a distinct division of labor, the implementation of a hierarchical

reporting structure where each employee is accountable to a single direct supervisor,

and the cultivation of a positive and mutually beneficial relationship between

managers and employees. An further significant tenet of Fayol's administrative

management theory is to the notion that all individuals inside an organization should
be harmonized with the overarching objectives of the business. Fayol claimed that the

establishment of a well-defined organizational structure played a crucial role in

determining the efficacy and efficiency of a company's operations.

Conceptual Framework

This study focuses on the relationship between the analysis of operation

management of agrivet business, considering the simultaneity and interdependence of

decisions about the level of operation and the intensity of use of the productive

resources in selling agricultural and veterinary products. In this context, researchers

contribute to the local international literature that tries to identify and assess the

operational management of agrivet business. The article is organized as follows. First,

the literature on the local agricultural and veterinary products international agriculture

and veterinary products is briefly presented. Secondly, the research variables in the

study are presented. The results section presents the main findings of the research.

Chapter 2
Review on Related Literature
A thorough analysis of the data and results from the literature that has already

been published on this subject. These are previous studies and concepts that were

determined to be relevant to the current investigation in this paper.

Operational Management on Agrivet Business

According to Singh, M., and Maharjan, K.L., (2017), the Agrovet business is a

retail business that falls within the pharmaceutical category of businesses. In Kenya,

there are roughly 9000 significant agro-vertical retail businesses, and there is a high

expectation that these businesses would increase by 30% over the course of the next

two years. According to the research conducted by Rademaker, C., et al., (2016), the

majority of these businesses employ a manual record keeping approach, whilst other

upgraded Agro-Vets have improved to the point where they have purchased computer

application programs for use in operating their day-to-day business activities.

Bhakta Bahadhur Saud, a resident of Kuldevmandu VDC in Bajura District,

who makes his living by selling agricultural inputs to local farmers that he buys from

the agro-vets of other districts, made a recommendation that an agricultural

pharmaceutical business can be ran and managed well if there could be a computer

system to manage the business operation, monitor the business progress, give advice

on the market changes on demand, as well as taking advantage of rapid c. Bhakta.

The use of strategy by organizations confers advantages on those

organizations over their rivals, which in turn leads to higher performance and results

that are superior to those obtained by the competition. According to Reid (2019),

management in an organization is directed by strategies, which ultimately results in

the achievement of the goals that were established. According to the findings of a

study that was carried out by Anyieni (2014), there is a favorable correlation between

strategic planning and the performance of a business. Because there are so many

diverse strategies, it is difficult to establish a direct correlation between them and the

performance of a particular company.

In the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, there are three to six veterinary drug

shops per commune (about 32 km2), although there are only one or two government

veterinarians or animal health workers in each commune. According to the findings of

the research conducted by Truong, D.B., (2019), farmers have more consistent access

to local veterinary drug shops than interaction with any other kind of animal health

consultants. According to the findings of the study conducted by Erickson, A.K.,

(2017), it has been proposed that owners of pharmacies should play a significant part

in antimicrobial stewardship. As a consequence of this, the proprietors of veterinary

drug shops and the employees who work for them are likely to play a major part in the

function of advising farmers on matters relating to animal health, including AMU.

However, the possibility that the owners and employees of these establishments have

financial stakes in the selling of antimicrobials raises serious ethical concerns.

Chapter 3
Methodology
This chapter deals with the research methodology of the study, including the

research design, research locale, respondents or participants of the study and sampling

procedure, research instruments and research ethics, data gathering procedure and

method of analysis. It also includes validity and reliability of the instrument and

statistical techniques.

Research Design

The researcher will make use of a certain collection of methods and strategies

in order to deliver a meaningful outcome from their work. The qualitative research

approach is going to be used for the research design. The methodology of the study

focuses on, which requires the collection and examination of numerical data for the

purpose of statistical analysis. Qualitative research, as stated by Bhandari, P., (2020),

is conducted in order to gain an understanding of how individuals see the world. In

spite of the fact that there are a great number of methods for doing qualitative
research, its defining characteristics are typically flexibility and an emphasis on the

preservation of rich meaning when analyzing data.

Sampling Procedure

The identification of our responders will be accomplished through the use of a

straightforward random sampling procedure. A number will be allotted to each

individual in the population who is eligible for consideration. We shall choose our

responses at random in order to ascertain who they are. There will be a total of fifty

(50) people that respond to this survey.

Agrivet owners, the Research Adviser, and the College Dean is appointed as

administrative positions.

A letter asking for permission was given beforehand to the owner of the café

for their approval to allow the researchers to conduct the study. After the approval, the

administration of the questionnaire follows. The participants were given an hour to

answer the survey questionnaire sincerely. After an hour, the questionnaires were

collected, checked, tabulated, analyzed, and interpreted.

Data Analysis

Data collected from different sources will be processed and analyzed for

discussion. The study used Dedoose to examine the data. The data collected for this

qualitative research study. The responses acquired were classified into the following

categories: Methods of waste disposal. Satisfaction with local authorities' services.

Initiatives for sustainable waste practices. The researcher inputted the data manually

recorded on android phones and software. After that, the information was processed

by coding data and tables.
