Trees play a very important role in our life. Trees contribute to our environment by providing
oxygen, improving air and climate quality. In the modern time where building and plantation are in
exchange of trees, we need to plant and grow more trees.
Mangaldan Central School joined the DepEd’s 236,000 Tress – A Christmas Gift for Children
headed by Mangaldan District I Public Schools District Supervisor Sir Herminio M. Serraon Jr. and the
tree/nature lover Dr. Jane M. Vivar, principal III of Mangaldan Central School together with the 10
teachers and 20 pupils of Grades four and five in support of the tree planting program. The objective of
the program is to provide a unique educational opportunity for pupils to actively participate in the tree
planting activities fostering a deeper understanding of environmental issues and promoting conservation
efforts through hands-on learning.
Mangaldan Central School is so lucky to have generous stakeholders who donated seedlings for
the tree planting activity. Captain Arcadio B. Pidlaoan, Deputy Chief of Police Sta. Barbara Municipal
Police Station donated calamansi seedlings and Sir Ariel D. Abalos, Tax Mapper of Mangaldan
Assessor’s Office donated Kaimito, Santol, Kamias, Guyabano and Manggo seedlings.
The event exactly started at 8:00 in the morning with a simple program, ma’am Donalyn O.
Zacarias, our live streamer captured the event and posted it live in the MCS Facebook Page. During the
tree planting you can see in the faces of the 20 pupils the excitement and curiosity while they were
planting the seedlings. Dr. Jane M. Vivar explained and emphasized to the pupils the importance of
plants to our lives and to the ecosystem. Below are area and seedling planted:
After the tree planting snacks were served. It was a successful activity. Participants were all
happy believing that tree planting helps connect people in the community to the benefits of trees and
foster environmental stewardship.
