Reflective Log

Reflective Log:-

Reflective log is an essentially a log that contains regular detail of the experiences and
emotions of the students with regard to their learning process.

Objectives:-

Utilizing the nursing process in providing the safe and effective care to the patient with mental health
attention.

Access the patients mental state in relation to the sign and symptoms presented.

Adhere to the policies and procedures followed in the Hospital in dealing with psychiatric patients and
their problems,

Utilize information of mental health for own personal development.

Description:-

On dated 2nd December 2023 , it was planed to have a study visit to Punjab Institute of Mental hospital
Lahore . A s per schedules at 5:30 am on 2nd December all the students and coordinators were
present . At 12:20 pm we reached at our destination. We were ready to fulfil our objectives of study visit
that were to assess the condition and sign and symptoms of psychiatric people and utilizing the nursing
process for the effective outcome of patient . Under the guidance of our class coordinator and nursing
officer we started our visit .

Firstly we visit the drug addiction center , that was 120 bed and provide the services to the addicted
people . Then we visited the rehabilitation unit separately for male and female patient . Then we
encounter the therapy center where E.C.T is carried off . At the end our coordinator had a meeting with
Nursing Superintendent Madam Abida.

Feeling:-

It was a happy moment to see the excellent effort of the government of Punjab regarding the drug
addiction center and rehabilitation, to eradicate the evil of drug addiction from society . Addicted
patients also put their effort to combat with this situation .

Evaluation:-

During this visit , it was found that this step of the government and patient will power an secure the
future generation from addiction and its harmful aspects . Rehabilitation also make the patient
independent so, they can enjoy the life as they wish.

Analysis:-

Though , it was a great step but unfortunately, hospital do not have funds to facilitate the patient and
meet their requirements. It is a big challenge for the staff to provide efficient care to the psychiatric
patients . But they try their best to meet their requirements in limited resources .
Conclusion :-

It was a good learning opportunity provided by our administration to create awareness regarding the
psychiatric illness and how to manage the patients with different disorders .
