ACCOMMODATION FOR TOURING OFFICERS.

0CCUPATION OF TRAVELLERS BUNGALOWS, INSPECTION
BUNGALOWS AND REST HOUSES.
Each Inspection Bungalow, Travellers' Bungalow or Rest House belonging
to Government and in-charge of the Highways and Rural Works Department
will be under the control of Divisional Engineer (Highways and Rural Works)
in whose jurisdiction it is situated. The Divisional Engineers shall be in-charge
of complete management and maintenance of the Travellers' Bungalows subject
to the control of the Collector who will be competent to cancel reservation and
clo any frcsh reservation under special circumstances, The power to rescrve
accommodation in the Highways Department Travellers' Bungalow at Kodaikanal
will, however, vest with the Collector of Madurai to whom nccessary applica
tions should be made.

The Inspection Bungalows, Travellers' Bungalows or Rcst Houses shall be

open to bonafide travellers and other persons for occupation on payment ot fees
prcscribed therefor and subject to the conditions that it shall be vacated on six
hours' notice, if so required by the Divisional Enginecr (Higlways) who shall
also have the power to forbid the use of the bungalow or rest house
person if it is shown that the person has used it improperly.

The Divisional Engincer (Highways and Rural Works) shail consider appli
cations for reservation of rooms in a bungalow or rest house if they are received
at least one week in advance of the date of occupation, and accompanicd by
a registration fee of 50 Paise. The registration fee slhall not be refunded on
any acCcount. -The Divisional Enginccr shall collect reservation fces and rent
for onc day in advance in respect of Travellers Bungalows and Rest Houses
and they may entrust the work of actual reservation and collection of rent to
he local officcrs like Assistant Engincers or Soction OMcers subjcct to the
supervision and control by him.
The order of precedence for the occupation of inspection bungalows, travel.
lers' bungalows or rest houscs will be as shown, below :
(i) Ministers.
(i) Parliamentary Secretarics to Min1sters.
(iüi) Heads of Government Departments having jurisdiction throughout
the State.
(iv) District Collectors.
(v) Deputy Inspecctor-General of Police, Super1ntending Engnecrs,
Conservator of Forests, other Gazetted Officers of Government who have juris
diction over more than one Revenue District, Recruiting Offiçcrs, Assistant
Recruiting Ofmcers, Recruiting Medical Oficers with the rank of Lieutchant
Colonel and Captain and other Military Officers of the Army, Navy and AÈ
Force.
(vi) Members of the State Legislature, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
(vii) Gazetted Officers of rank of District Officers, Deputy Superinten
dents of Central Excise, Officers of Life Insurance Corporation of India aud
omcers of the Small Industries Corporation of India, New Delhi.

(x) Commissioncrs, Panchayat Unions, Chairmen of Pancliayat Uniors

and Non.Gazctted Oicers of Government and touring members of the Federatcd

Note.-In respect of Inspection Burgalows and Rest Houses attached to
Elighways and which are declared to be property of the Government of India, the
Centra]-State Government Officers- in-charge of National Highways will have
precedence oer the other Central or State Government Officers.
