    It refers to he nine hazard symbols used to identify the kind of substances that
    COSHH deals with. They include

    1. Explosives

    2. Flammable
    ‫املؤكسده‬
    3. Oxidising
    ‫غاز تحت الضغط‬
    4. Gas under pressure
    ‫تآكل‬
    5. Corrosive
    ‫سامه‬
    6. Toxic‫خطر على الصحه‬
    7. Health hazards
    ‫قاتله او مضره جدا على الصحه‬
    8. Serious health hazards
    ‫خطر على البيئه‬
    9. Dangerous for the environment
    • 1. Explosives
    ‫التحضيرات‬ ‫تنفجر‬
    • These are chemicals and preparations that explode.

    • 2. Flammable ‫مباشر‬
    • Chemicals ‫ه‬that ‫جدح‬
    may catch fire in contact with air, only need brief contact
    ‫سريعه االشتعال‬

    ‫سريع اال‬

    Usually found on bleach, oxygen for medical purposes.

    • 4.Gas under pressure

    Gas stored under pressure, such as in gas containers may explode if heated.
    • 5. Corrosive ‫تدمر‬ ‫نسيج حي‬
    • Chemicals that may destroy living tissue on contact. ‫منصف جاف‬
    ‫حروق بشره‬ ‫تاذي العني‬
    Causes severe
    ‫تيزاب‬
    skin burns and eye damage. Usually found on drain cleaners,
    acetic acid, hydrochloric acid.

    • 6. Toxic
    Chemicals that at low and very low levels cause damage to health. They
    are:
    ‫مميت‬
    -Fatal if swallowed, fatal in contact with skin, if inhaled.
    ‫اذا تبلعها‬ ‫استنشاقه‬
    -Toxic if swallowed, in contact with skin and toxic if inhaled.
    • 7. Health Hazard
    Chemicals that may cause damage to health.
    ‫املعروف أنه يعني الحذر‬ ‫تهيج‬
    Also known to mean‫ها‬caution ‫تاذي اذا تبلع‬
    because it may cause serious
    ‫تنفسي‬
    eye irritation,
    skin irritation, Harmful if swallowed or may cause respiratory irritation.

    • 8.Serious Health Hazard


    • It mean long term health hazards. These are chemicals

    that can cause
    serious and long term damage to health, like cancer,

    genetic defects and damage to organs.
    • 9.Dangerous for the environment ‫متأخر‬
    ‫فوري‬
    • Chemicals
    ‫عناصر‬
    that may cause an immediate or delayed danger
    ‫تربه‬
    to one or more
    components of the environment (like to water, air or soil).
    • Steps for Health and safety risk assessment

    1. Staff training ‫كشف املخاطر‬
    ‫عالمات‬
    2. Using signs to highlight risks ‫اضافي‬
    ‫تحسني‬ ‫حرس‬
    3. Improved safety equipment such as guards
    ‫الحمايه الشخصيه‬
    or additional
    ‫نظارات واقية‬
    personal protective equipment including goggles or safety
    boots.
    ‫البدائل‬
    4. Replacing hazardous chemicals with less harmful alternatives.
