“The Church is Dessigned to Nourished the

Imperfect, the Struggling and the exhausted.”

The church is God’s plan for sharing his divine life with us. He himself built the church not to
gather perfect people to say perfect things, have perfect thoughts, or have perfect feelings. The
church is built to gather imperfect, struggling, and exhausted people who want to heal, and to
heal them, the church provides encouragement, support, and service to others. It’s not the
concrete or pipes that make the church strong; it’s the people that gathered to serve God and
our fellow sisters and brothers.

The church is a unit in our society that brings healing; it’s the hospital for our wounded and sick
souls. The church heals the imperfect, struggling, and exhausted through God’s presence. In
church, we are all on the same journey. Seeing the adults, youths, and children in church made
me realize the power of the church to bring people together despite having different life
situations, ages, or genders. We might have different opinions, political beliefs, social opinions,
and many more, but to think that the church can unite us is amazing. We gather to church to be
healed, learn, teach, and help each other without judgement.

“A major reason the Lord has a church is to create a community of Saints that will sustain one
another in the ‘strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life.” (The Book of Mormon : 2
Nephi 31 18). One of the main purposes of the church is to build a healthy community of healed
people who walk beside each other. I believe that this is one of the reasons why church is with
us, church is a place where we build ourselves up and make ourselves better, as well as a place
where we build relationships with others.

The second major reason why the church is with us is because our Savior works through the
church. He gathers us to the church to accomplish needful things that cannot be accomplished
by individuals or small groups of people. One clear example is poverty, It is true that as
individuals and families, we look after the physical needs of others, “imparting to one another
both temporally and spiritually according to their needs and their wants.”23 But together in the
church, the ability to care for the poor and needy is multiplied to meet the broader need, and
hoped-for self-reliance is made a reality for very many.

Lastly, it is the mission. We are all missionary of God gathered in His church to learn , teach ,
help our brothers and sisters, and to spread the good news of salvation to others.
