CHAPTER I : Introduction

1.1 Overview

After a few weeks of searching, I was really lucky to find an position as a product
executive intern at Ivivu company , directly communicating with suppliers about the
company’s product. I discovered this job on Topcv website. During my three months
internship in this company, I learned a lot of valuable lessons (from September , 2023
to November 30, 2023).

This is an oppoturnity for me to manipulate my knowledge that I have learned at

school in the real working environment. Besides, I could learn more skills thorough
this internship from the supervisor and my colleagues .

1.2 Objectives for this internship

1.2.1. Apply skills and major’s knowledge have learned in university into the
working environment:
The ability to work in a group is a minimum requirement that everyone should have.
The internship is a great opportunity for me to access a real working environment.
While studying in the university, I used to study many office computer skills, this is a
chance to practice and enhance my skill as much as possible.

1.2.2. Learn more skills after finished the internship:

After finishing the internship , I want to develop my negotiation skills , analysis and
diagnosis skills . These skills are very important to be success and get more
opportunities for my career. With negotiation skill, it will help me communicate
effectively to reach an agreement between two or more parties. Along with analysis
and diagnostic skills which will help me to envision the best response to a situation
and the ability to identify key variables in a situation.

5
1.2.3. Learn about company’s culture:

Company culture is the foundation of every business .Every company has a different
working culture, the same goes for iVIVU. At company, the dress culture is very
comfortable but must be discreet and historical. Behavior and communication at work
must also be orderly, I want to learn more about how to behave properly with people
who are older and have higher positions than me in the company.

CHAPTER III : JOB DESCRIPTION :

During my internship, I was appointed by the company to the position of Product

executive – Entertainment tickets which includes many products such as theme parks,
museums ,attractions , sighseeing,zoo... In this position, I am responsible for two main
tasks. The first task, I am responsible for managing the system, updating sales content,
prices, and policies from suppliers. The second task is to ensure the accuracy of data,
information, images, and presentations on the website. Besides, increasing learning
and attending meetings to grasp and supplement knowledge about the company and
the products the company is implementing are extremely important to me because it
will help me better understand my current job, know how to deploy, how to arrange
work appropriately to complete assigned role well.

3.1. Position roles in the company:

3.1.1. Daily mission:

Every day, I am assigned the task of editing images and selecting beautiful photos to
post on the company's website to advertise the company's products. Manager will send
me an image file and ask me to edit the images and choose the most beautiful and eye-
catching images to post as advertisements for the product. This helps increase
purchases from customers, as well as allows me to create professionalism for the
company's product website. For this job, basic image editing skills and a little
aesthetic sense are required to be able to evaluate and select beautiful and suitable
photos for the product to stimulate customer choice products, contributing to boosting
the company's sales.

9
Picture 2: Ivivu's entertainment and recreation website

Besides, updating and editing information is also very important. Every day, I
regularly check each number and information as well as the article of each product.
This job requires a lot of patience and care which means I can improve these attributes
from this position. Even a small error can cause the company to suffer losses and lose
customer trust. For an intern like me, I feel that the company assigning such an
important responsibility makes me feel the company's appreciation for me and pride in
myself when the company trusts me.

10
Picture 3: Information Services of Ivivu

3.1.2. Meeting:

I participated in presentations about the products the company is selling. By

consistently joining in team meetings, as well as meeting and greeting other
departments within the company, it helps improve my ability to communicate with
everyone and create trust and confidence among everyone. In addition, the manager
was also very kind to create a welcome party to connect me with everyone in the
group. This helps me easily get along with everyone and makes me feel comfortable
and welcome when working here.

11
3.1.3. Challenges and difficulties at work:

Although I am getting used to my job, I still sometimes encounter difficulties and

challenges while working. Because the nature of the job is communication and
information processing, the manager cannot always help me solve difficulties at work.
At this time, I have to research the job by myself through searching to overcome
barriers at work . It helps me become more independent and appreciated. In addition,
I always have to work with numbers, concentrating hard and carefully reviewing to
achieve accuracy also costs me a lot of time and effort. Not only that, to integrate with
people and the workplace environment. I always have to be careful with what I say
and follow the rules when communicating with people.

3.1.4. The experience I accumulated through my internship:

Through dedicated guidance and constantly pushing me to learn from the manager. I
personally feel much more mature than before I interned. I feel like I have gradually
become more careful in my work through self-study and independence. Adapting to
the working environment and teamwork helps me increase my communication ability
significantly. Now, from an introverted person who rarely communicates with people
around me, I can easily adapt and communicate with others.

12
Chapter IV. Problem of the company

4.1. Matter identification

The potential for tourism development in Vietnam is very high . Not only does
Vietnam boast stunning landscapes and unique cultural heritage, but the Vietnamese
government also collaborates with the private sector, creating favorable conditions for
remarkable development. This is also the main factor behind the success of
Vietnamese tourism over the past decade according to Graham Cooke - Chairman and
founder of the World Travel Awards.

Figure 2: Total revenue from tourists from 1990 to 2019 in Viet Nam

Realizing the attractive growth momentum of the Vietnamese market, many

international travel companies have quickly entered the market. While covering my
corporate responsibilities, I found out that there is a strong bond between this issue

13
closely linked to the ongoing concern of my current company . This is also one of
IVIVU's biggest troubles.

Issue Analysis:

Competition in business is competition or rivalry between companies selling similar

products or targeting the same target audience to get more sales, increase revenue and
gain more market share with other companies. One of IVIVU's strongest competitors
is KKDAY

4.2.1. KKDAY analysis

Picture 4: Website of KKday

The top online travel marketplace, KKday, connects tourists with real local tours and
activities. Activities include thrilling outdoor activities, while experiences include
signature experiences, cuisine, nightlife, spa, DIY classes, shopping, and events. Not
only provide experiences , activities product, but they also provide items similar to
Ivivu such as hotels and airline tickets. Currently, KKday is providing more than
30,000 itineraries and independent travel services in 580 cities, 90 countries across 5
continents, attracting more than 1 million customers and thousands of orders each
month.

14
The way their website is presented shows that their main product is still providing
attractions and tickets .

Picture 5: Website of KKday

About price, because KKDAY is both a retailer and a supplier so their prices are not
more expensive than the market. Here is Sun Worls Ba Na Hills price from KKDAY
and IVIVU

Picture 6: Sun World Ba Na Hills Ticket

15
Picture 7: Sun World Ba Na Hills Ticket Price of Ivivu
4.2.2. Ivivu analysis

If talking about Kkday, it is a strong global travel application site, and specializes in
experiential ticket products, then Ivivu is a domestic application site that focuses more
on accommodation and flights. Unlike KKDAY, when customers visit IVIVU’s
website, they will see them presenting hotels at first .

16
Picture 8: Website of Ivivu

Ivivu has long developed its success in hotel and restaurant chains through application
software development with their partners.Recently, Ivivu is also constantly developing
additional products such as the entertainment ticket segment .The fact that Ivivu is a
domestic application helps them easily grasp and develop Vietnamese tourism, as well
as give customers the best experiences about Vietnam, which is the biggest strength
that a global application can hardly have achieved .Although it has strengths in the
hotel segment, in the entertainment ticket segment ,IVIVU is a newcomer . Moreover,
IVIVU is a agent , it does not have its own products , they will have to get it from
suppliers like KKDAY, so price is not a strong point of IVIVU.

4.2.3. Conclusion

From comparing the both travel applications, we can see that both Ivivu and Kkday
have their own strengths in their products. However , KKday is an international
competitor and they have strengths in the experiences segment, which is also a new
business segment of IVIVU . Furthermore, IVIVU does not have their own product is
also a huge weakness

17
4.3. Solutions for Ivivu :
4.3.1. Products of businesses:
Ivivu needs impressive and distinctive products to collect attracts tourists by creating
its own products .They can use their strengths which are relationships with hotels and
restaurants to make a combo travel . Currently, the travel trend of tourists is gradually
changing, traveling not only to enjoy beautiful scenery but also to combine with other
purposes such as charity tourism, medical tourism, sports tourism.According to
People’s Army Newspaper , Vietnam has enormous potential for medical tourism,
which is anticipated to assist the nation draw more international visitors, especially
those from Japan. Director of the Health Ministry's Department for Medical
Examination and Treatment, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, has stated.

4.3.2. Using technology:

Tourism information activities on Ivivu's website need to be organized in a
synchronous and unified manner, from management agencies to each business.
Tourism information products and services need professionalism, coordination, and
data exchange between units. Ivivu's promotional work needs to be planned on a large
scale to make it easier for customers to easily access it. Data needs to be stored
systematically and according to a certain standard.

Businesses must be proactive in their advertising activities through making quality

advertising clips to post on mass media, company websites, and social networks such
as Facebook, YouTube, Google, blogs, etc.In addition, businesses can also link with
relevant industries and authorities to organize seminars, competitions, and other
tourism events to promote and attract tourists. In addition, Ivivu can consider opening
promotional programs and combos to stimulate customers to spend more on travel.

4.3.3. Customer Service

Additionally, we can better satisfy client needs if our goods and services are of a high
caliber. Customers frequently just focus on the stain while company's trying to build a
white wall and unintentionally getting a stain on it. Strict quality control procedures
will reduce blemishes that could harm the company's reputation

18
4.3.4. Regarding spending money on market research and picking target
markets :
Ivivu's investigation, study, and gathering of market data should be promoted.
Numerous possible markets should be explored, and more market share should be
produced by thorough market research. It is necessary to upgrade and significantly
improve the costs associated with traveling and researching overseas marketplaces.
The capacity of employees to seek, use, and process information also needs to be
increased. Businesses' market research efforts need to be organized properly,
particularly when using information technology, and mathematical, and statistical
methods. The cost of gathering primary market data must be high enough.

4.3.5. Proposing the government to adjust tourism laws to suit the

economic context:
To create strength for Vietnamese tourism businesses, it is necessary to create
favorable policies from the state.

CHAPTER V : EVALUATION

5.1. Experiences gain in internship

During my internship, I found the job of an product executive quite interesting .Since i
worked at company , I got many support from my colleagues . As an intern, without
much practical experience, I have learned a lot of new things and partly achieved the
goals I set before. I actively discussed when I did not understand the work, and more
confident in communication. Because i have to edit a lot of information from company
website , I became proficient in using office equipment and office skills . I can't
neglect writing reports because of work. To have enough time to study and practice
effectively, I have trained myself in a new skill - time management . I must also take
good care of myself , eat, and rest scientifically. At the company everyone is busy
with their work so not everyone has enough time to guild everything. Working in the
company helps me learn the ability to work independently . I learned how to
communicate and build relationships with the people I worked with. I learned how to
introduce myself, talk about my interests, knowledge and skills with entrepreneurs and

19
business owners, as well as how to ask questions and gain a better understanding of
businesses not only in the co-working space, but also others in the market.

5.2. The application of knowledge in the workplace

Based to the knowledge I obtained at HOA SEN university, I was able to apply to the
IVIVU company. When I was in school, I studied English for Business very hard ,
therefore ,I have a basic foundation in vocabulary to understand information from
foreign partners. Furthermore, this subject also helped me pass the test on handling
situations from my manager.

During my work, the skill that I feel is most refined and developed is critical thinking.
Through the critical thinking course at school, I was able to apply that knowledge to
my work by connecting ideas in a way that I can reason, scrutinize and evaluate
arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in one's own work and the work of others,
solve complex problems, and engage in reflection. In addition, I not only accumulate
information well, but also know how to use information to deduce facts and determine
results. By conceptualizing results, I can solve problems better than people who just
memorize information. Through critical thinking, management appreciates my
abilities - especially in cases, where having to solve information and self-study is an
essential part of the job.

Besides, sales management subjects also help me in my work. From the knowledge I
have acquired, it enables me to perform basic calculations for analyzing price data
accurately and providing strategic recommendations to generate profits and minimize
losses. Through the process of training at school and applying them at work. I feel like
my skills are gradually developing, such as:

 Problem solving
 Communication
 Analysis
 Interpersonal skills
 Attention to detail.
 Organization

20
 Technological skills
 Ability to work independently.

5.3. Strengths and weaknesses :

In this internship, my main problem is that interacting with colleagues quite difficult.
It took me about 1 month to figure out how to adapt with workplace’s environment . I
feel less confident about myself , in meetings, even when I have something to say, I
rarely ever do. I simply feel like I'm so young in my job, and there are many more
experienced people in the room that have more to offer. However, I am trying to
overcome this, starting with adding more knowledge to myself.

My strength in researching compensated for my shortcoming. I can find the answers to

my questions with just a few clicks on the internet's database. So even if taking on
new jobs can be intimidating, everything will be great with the help of my supervisor
and self-study. My understanding of English texts and grammatical structures helped
me a lot during my internship. I read about travel subjects and really expanded my
English vocabulary in this area.

5.4. Plan for self-improvement

As a student, it is hard for me to grasp everything about how the subject of expertise
works despite how realistically the lecturers usually try to portray it. However, the
internship was how I gained practical experience. It was an opportunity for me to get
active in my field and delve deeper while still in school - a chance to apply what I
learned in class to the real world. I'll keep honing my language abilities and soft skills
after this internship. Additionally, I think I should get additional expertise in image
editing.

5.5. Improve my hard skills and soft skills:

Experience is, without a doubt, the best teacher. An internship will allow me to
practice and grow my talents in a timely manner, whether I'm improving soft skills
like problem-solving and communication or learning technical information like how
software operates. In a more realistic manner, I will be given menial jobs that will
help me build my soft skills as I tackle problems in a more informed and

21
comprehensive manner. I'm hoping that by the end of my internship, I'll have more
skills, better skills, and a general sense of progress.

CHAPTER VI: CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

6.1. Conclusion:
Throughout my internship, I faced various challenges that demanded learning industry
knowledge and technical skills. The most valuable lesson I learned was the
importance of effective communication. Learning how to discuss with my co-workers
and advisors about products and presenting them underscored the necessity of clear
and tailored communication. These experiences honed my interpersonal skills and
highlighted the art of adapting messages to diverse audiences.

6.2. Recommendations
For the Ivivu’s company :
After 3 months of internship with Ivivu company, I personally feel that Ivivu is a
dynamic, fun and sociable working environment. I always feel comfortable, and the
company creates conditions for me to confidently develop my own skills because I am
always guided and closely monitored by the company. Besides, the manager always
creates conditions for me to develop my skills and the position I am currently working
in for the company. The company always creates good working conditions for
employees. In addition to working, the company always organizes contests, travel
trips and dining meetings between employees and superiors to let's talk together or
evaluate the results we have achieved.

However, after three months of working, I have seen a few points that I think the
company needs to improve a bit. Regarding its communication issues, the company
should launch advertising campaigns and capture technology communication trends
on social sites more effectively to create a strong impression of the product for users
and customers, make them more accessible. In addition, the company should also have
22
promotions, customer appreciation programs as well as interactive games between
customers and the company to increase the connection between the two sides.
Regarding the company's website, the company should develop its sales website more
strongly, should improve access links, layout and arrangement in a scientific way.
Website decoration that is more vivid and eye-catching also contributes to promoting
customer consumption.

For Hoa Sen University :

First of all, I want to thank Hoa Sen for organizing the final internship, which helped
me get closer to reality. Thanks to these practical experiences, I have gradually
matured and created a solid foundation for me to step into my career after graduating.
Even though I was someone who knew what I wanted to do from a young age, there
was no harm in exploring another field. By interning, I will learn about what I do and
don't like about the job, the work environment, and the industry. I may even discover
some things I never knew about.

After going through the internship, I propose HSU to organize surveys or meetings to
collect feedback from students during the internship and then provide advices to
students, because sometime ,they will encounter difficulties that they may not know
how to solve and need support from the school.

For students :

Through the internship, students can overcome obstacles by fulfilling company

responsibilities, developing strong working relationships with coworkers, and
focusing on their work attitude. Despite the challenges, a positive attitude and the
ability to work well together can lead to better results and better outcomes. Develop
strong relationships with coworkers for valuable learning and experience. Create a
suitable timetable to balance company obligations and internship reporting, ensuring
you complete both tasks simultaneously.
