# PROJECT 2:
1
DESCRIPTION:
As individual consumers continue to take a greater role in their healthcare, their needs will drive
how innovative healthcare products are sold, services rendered and delivery of products and
services managed in the competitive healthcare market space. One of the key starting points is to
consolidate the information we have about each consumer into a central repository.
Consumer Database (CDB) imports, extracts, and transports consumer information from a variety
of legacy source systems across the organization – characteristic of a “bonding agent” that keeps
our virtual data intact and glued together – to ensure we can compile the entire history and
relationship with each individual we serve. Data is updated daily through contributing sources and
is accessible on a transactional basis.

DESCRIPTION:
The COSMOS billing system is an enrollment-based system that creates billing
information for employer groups, government programs and individuals. Invoices can be
generated monthly for group invoices and monthly or quarterly for individual invoices.
Retroactive group changes, rate changes, subscriber and member changes are also
calculated. Manual adjustments can be entered on PB200 with the option of printing it
on the invoice or bypassing the print and going directly to the AR: M accounts system (this
is called a manual non-bill adjustment. The information that billing creates is fed to the
AR: M accounts receivable system, the Pool Ledger system for capitation, the PeopleSoft
GL for Revenue and counts, EBill.
