36. Read the following passage and answer the questions given below .
A company is launching a new product and decided to pack the product in the form of a closed
right circular cylinder of volume 432𝜋 ml and having minimum surface area . They tried to get
the solution by answering the questions given below :
(i) If r is the radius of the base of cylinder and h is the height of cylinder then establish the
relation between r and h .
(ii) Find total surface area in terms of r only.
(iii) Find the minimum surface area.

37. The Indian coast guard, while patrolling, saw a suspicious boat with people. They were nowhere
looking like fishermen. The coast guard were closely observing the movement of the boat for an
opportunity to seize the boat .They observed that the boat is moving along a planar surface .At
an instant of the time, the coordinates of the position of the coast guard helicopter and the boat
are (1,3,5) and (2,5,3) respectively .
Based on the above information, answer the following :

(i) Find the direction cosines of a line joining position of the helicopter and the boat at the
given instant of time .
(ii) Find the Cartesian equation of the line passing through the positions of the helicopter and
the boat at the given instant of the time.
(iii) Find the distance (in m ) that the bullet has to travel , if the coast guard decides to shoot
the boat at the given instant of time.

38. A shopkeeper sells three types of flower seeds A, B and C . These are sold in the form of a mixture ,
where the proportions of these seeds are 4 : 4 : 2 respectively. The germination rates of these types of
seeds are 45% , 60 % and 35% respectively.
(i) Calculate the probability that a randomly chosen seed will germinate.
(ii) Calculate the probability that the seed of type B , given that a randomly chosen seed germinates.
