Role Information

Role Designation Associate Consultant/ Senior Associate Consultant

Purpose of the Role

Support the consulting team in different phases of the project including problem definition, effort estimation,
diagnosis, solution generation, design and deployment and participate in unit-level and organizational initiatives
WITH the objective of providing high-quality and value-adding consulting solutions to customers within the
guidelines, policies and norms of Infosys

Unit Brief

Infosys is a Platinum and Cloud Elite partner for Oracle. Infosys Oracle practice is responsible for navigating our
clients in their business transformations using Oracle products and Infosys consulting. The Oracle consulting teams
is helping clients implement various business functions on Oracle Cloud. They specialize in functions that spread
across supply chain, customer experience, human resources, finance, retail, manufacturing, etc. Products covered
by the team include Oracle E-Biz Suite, Oracle SaaS (all pillars), PeopleSoft, Hyperion, JD Edwards, Siebel, Taleo,
Workday, Argus, Infor/BAAN, IOT, Blockchain, Kinaxis, etc.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Problem Definition
The Associate Consultant will conduct secondary research that would help identify problem areas in order to
assist in identifying the problem

2. Effort Estimation and Proposal Development


The Associate Consultant will conduct secondary research or work with vendors to provide data-points on effort
estimation and proposal development in order to ensure accurate effort estimation and deliver a proposal
acceptable to the customer and to Infosys

3. Diagnostic /Discovery/As Is Assessment


The Associate Consultant will read the diagnostic/As-is-Assessment/Audit report to understand the
recommendations in order to use that as an input for the next phase of the project
(For small projects) The Associate Consultant will contribute to the diagnostic/As-is-assessment/Audit report

4. Solution Evaluation and Recommendation


The Associate Consultant will understand the solutions recommended and explore the alternatives based on
research (literature survey, information available in public domains, information available in the repository,
vendor evaluation information, etc.), build POCs and seek reviews in order to assist in providing solution
alternatives

5. Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes


The Associate Consultant will create requirements specifications from the business needs / to-be-processes
defined and define detailed functional/process/infrastructure/security design based on requirements. S/he will
seek reviews, make changes as required and then present to the supervisor in order to create a to-be
process/function design document. The Associate Consultant will also create the architecture and design
document in order to complete the solution design Development/ Configuration

The Associate Consultant will configure/build the application/ process solution in line with the design
documents and also assist the team in requirement clarifications in order to complete configuration and
customization .The Associate Consultant will customize or tailor best practices, algorithms, solution capabilities
in line with customer requirements

6. Validation (System)
The Associate Consultant will document and publish test results/cases to supervisor in order to identify the
design and development defects. The Associate Consultant will document and publish validation (or simulation)
results for value of the IP

7. Deployment
The Associate Consultant will follow the steps for deployment as envisaged in the project plan, foresee possible
cutover/migration issues and plan for them proactively. S/he will resolve data migration issues, and resolve cut
over user issues with speediness. S/he will coordinate with and assist other team members for deployment
activities in order to ensure a smooth go-live of new processes or product or system for the customer. The
Associate Consultant will carry out evangelization, training, knowledge sharing, best practice demo -
interventions to increase stickiness for consultants

8. Training and Change Management


The Associate Consultant will prepare training materials using available tools and the design application/ target
system in order to facilitate training for key users

9. Knowledge Transfer /System Appreciation


The Associate Consultant will Study the existing systems and processes, document the system understanding,
conduct reverse KT and seek sign-offs in order to commence the process of Support & Maintenance

10. Build & Maintain Process Repository


The Associate Consultant will review the existing repository in case of identification of new problems, or new
solutions and then updates the information in the specified templates in order to ensure reliability of current
database

11. Issue Resolution (Incident/Problem Resolution)


The Associate Consultant will understand the issue, diagnose the root-cause of the issue, seek clarifications, and
then identify and shortlist solution alternatives in order to resolve issues according to guidelines

12. Strategy and Business Planning


The Associate Consultant will perform secondary research for very specific items (like data analysis in verticals,
functions, etc.) as instructed by the supervisor in order to assist in strategy and business planning

13. Marketing and Branding


The Associate Consultant will create marketing materials in the form of case studies, solution documentation,
solution or PoC demo scripts in order to build collaterals for marketing initiatives

14. Presales
The Associate Consultant will create and update the basic pieces of a proposal (right template, standard
sections) and run profitability and margin analysis with estimations from the technical and functional teams in
order to assist in presales activities to arrive at proposals agreeable to the clients

15. Product / Solution Development

The Associate Consultant will configure/assist in evaluating industry micro vertical/service/solution
requirements on the product, document these in presentations and also create solution brochures in order TO
assist the Team Lead in solution development, product selection and documentation

16. Quality Management


The Associate Consultant will work with the Project Manager to follow the methodology and capture relevant
data in various phases of the project in order to deliver a high quality solution to the customer This responsibility
is relevant only in those scenarios where working with project managers is needed to capture required data in
relevant project phases

17. Knowledge Management


The Associate Consultant will publish BOKs under the guidance of supervisor in order to contribute to Knowledge
Management

Knowledge, Skills required for the role

Knowledge: Either Process understanding or Domain Knowledge in one or two areas, ITIL, COBIT, CMM, Six Sigma
and other operational process frameworks awareness, ESM tools and architecture knowledge

Skills: Communication (Written & Verbal)


Consulting, Assessment, Design, Deployment, testing, Client Interfacing skills, Team management
