New Trading Platform – Mock trading session (03rd June 2023)
_________________________________________________________________________
In terms of provisions of the Rules, Bye-Laws and Regulations of the Exchange and in
continuation to the Exchange Circular no ‘MCX/TECH/735/2022’, dated December 20, 2022,
members of the Exchange are notified that, the Exchange shall be conducting mock trading
session on new trading platform on Saturday, June 03, 2023.

Trading Members may please refer to Exchange Circular MCX/CTCL/423/2017 dated


November 15, 2017, and MCX/CTCL/891/2020 dated November 25, 2020 regarding
testing of software used in or related to Trading and Risk Management. Members having
approved algorithm strategy/strategies irrespective of the algorithm having undergone
change or not, are required to participate in the mock trading session. Trading members
using third party trading platforms of empaneled vendors or in-house developed systems
through FIX/Non-FIX APIs can use this opportunity to test their respective trading
application during mock trading session. Members are requested to actively participate in
the Mock Trading Session to avoid any issue when Exchange plan to go live with new
version of trading software.

Members may note that participation in above mock is available through existing leased line
connectivity to primary site on Saturday. Members connecting via internet may participate
in this mock trading using their live (existing) SSL VPN ids through SSL VPN link
https://trading.mcxindia.com.

Members can login to new front end namely the new Trading work station – MCX Trade
Station (MTS), new Member admin terminal - Member Control Station (MCS) with
compulsory download. Members need to use their existing (Live) SFTP login ID and password
to download required set up for participating in the proposed mock. Members are required
to uninstall and clear the application data and initiate the new installation (Path CDPsftp
\COMMON\MOCKSetup).

Members using CTCL facility are requested to actively participate in the mock trading
session using CTCL software as per new Trading interface – MCX Enhanced Trading

Interface (ETI) API version 1.3 dated 25th April, 2023 and FIX API version 1.2 dated June
21, 2022.

Members are encouraged to actively participate in the proposed mock to test and get
acquainted with the new application interface. Members are also requested to use the end of
the day files available in the SFTP to test their back office software.

List of functionalities enabled for mock are provided in Annexure 1.


The connectivity details for Mock Trading session of new trading platform are provided in
Annexure 2.

Procedure to install The MCX Trade Station (MTS) and Member Control Station (MCS), has
been mentioned in Annexure 3.

Members are requested to note that, there is a change in default password policy for MTS &
MCS for new trading interface details as follows:

Default password
• During the first login in Mock, Users need to enter password as Mcx@1204 (MCS
users need to enter Mcx@1204) and upon successful login system will immediately
ask for password change, which can be set as per user choice as per password
guideline
• If new user is created or password is reset then default password will be set as
Mcx@ddmm. For example, if password for user id 1234 is reset on 12th April 23, then
default password would be Mcx@1204
• Member can reset MTS terminal password through MCS application.
Password Guidelines
• Passwords should be a minimum of 8 characters
• Passwords should be a maximum of 12 characters
• Passwords should contain both Upper Case and Lower Case characters (e.g.: a-z, AZ)
• The password should include digits and special characters (e.g.: 0-9,
!@#$%^&*()_+|~-=\`{}[]:";'<>?,./)
• Password history is minimum 6 passwords, hence you cannot set new password which
is used in last 6 times.

MCXCCL – eClear portal access (BaNCS)


As part of the new commodity derivatives platform, MCXCCL is pleased to introduce a new
web interface. Members (Trading and Clearing members) can login to the interface for
participating in mock session using URL – https://eclear.mcxccl.com/Bancs The Maker &
Checker user ids and passwords have been kept in Member’s SFTP download folder.
Note: Clear the browser cache and add above URL alone in your favorites (Don’t include any
additional parameters in above URL, while adding into the favorites)”
MCS & MTS user id and password have been kept in Member’s SFTP download folder
(https://cdpsftp.mcxindia.com) for participating in the said mock trading. Members need to use
their existing (Live) SFTP login ID and password to download required set up for participating
in the proposed mock.

Members should put in place adequate mechanism to restore their trading systems to
production state at the end of mock session to ensure integrity of their trading system.

Members may please note that trades resulting from mock trading will not attract any obligation
for pay-in and payout.

2. Members are advised not to register UCC (Client Code) same as Member Code allotted by the
Exchange in UCC database of the Exchange. The Exchange will provide Error Code – 305 i.e.
“Invalid Client Id” while creation of UCC through file and GUI.

3. With respect to Error Code – 311 (Section 1.3 - UCC List of Error Codes) mentioned in
Exchange Circular no. MCX/TECH/023/2022 dated January 13, 2022, it is clarified that if the UCC
status of the record is change from Active to Inactive along with modification of values in UCC
field, then the Exchange will allow Member to mark the UCC code as Inactive but the system will
not accept / make the modification in the UCC records uploaded by the Member other than UCC
status field. It may be noted that similar validation will be performed while modification of UCC
through GUI.

Steps for downloading files for participating in Mock Trading:

• MTS installation guide is available on https://cdpsftp.mcxindia.com (file name


MTS_Installation_Guide_V.1).

• Members are required to uninstall and clear the application data and initiate the new
installation.

• Members are required to unzip installable file “MTS_Mock_14.0.2.XX.Zip” and


BroadcastRTDSetup.Zip for mock

• to install MTS - MCX-Trade Station(MTS).msi and BroadcastRTDSetup.msi.

• Member are required to unzip installable file “MCS_Mock_14.0.2.XX.Zip” for mock

• to install MCS - Member Control Station(MCS).msi for mock

• Post installation of MTS software as per above mentioned guidelines, Members are also
required to compulsorily update the same using guidelines mentioned in the ‘MCX Member
Trading Station (MTS) - Auto-Update Manual’ which is also available in Common/MockSetup
folder in the SFTP (Extranet) Server on https://cdpsftp.mcxindia.com

• CTCL Contract Master for mock kept in the Common folder in the SFTP (Extranet) Server
using https://cdpsftp.mcxindia.com for downloading through Internet to the members
system. Files can be downloaded any time through Internet.

• Members using MTS facility and having specific local firewall access rules need to ensure that
access to IP Address should be enabled at their end for seamless connectivity to Exchange
trading system.

• It is recommended to whitelist software which may hinder seamless broadcast dissemination


for the machines on which MTS and MCS applications are installed

• Members are requested to auto update MTS and MCS applications or uninstall and install
latest application available on sftp as mentioned in circulars.

• Ensure Admin Access is provided to installation path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Tata
