Objective 174 occupants typical arrangement:

To install additional life rafts to cover the total number of
occupants: Slide raft capacity:
• following the customized cabin layout requirements • rated 4 x 44 = 176 occupants
• in the event of a loss of one slide raft of the largest • overloaded 3 x 55 = 165 occupants
rated capacity.
Critical case:
Basic aircraft • slide raft overload capacity = 165 occupants
None. • life raft (6 persons) overload capacity = 9 occupants
Total overload capacity = 174 occupants.
Description
Additional life rafts are installed in the OHSC adjacent Note
to the passenger/crew/service door, in accordance with • Requires prior acceptance of CN25.62.102 - Installa-

Overload capacities: • Installation of additional life raft in OHSC can reduce
load capacity of adjacent stowage bin.
• Life raft (6 persons) overload capacity = 9 occupants
• Life raft (12 persons) overload capacity = 18 occu-
pants
• Life raft (25 persons) overload capacity = 38 occu-

25.66.000 - Life vests - General information

Description
Life vests must fulfil minimum performance standards
according to TSO-C13f.

Note
Floatable seat cushion can be used as an alternative to
life vest for non over-water operations under FAA regis-
tration.

Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology

The listed life vests will be delivered with passive RFID
tags. The RFID tags allows to track inventory, capture
data and reduce time linked to the aircraft inspection re-
ports and, before a flight, allows the airline staff to make
sure that a life vest is located under each seat and to
check its date of expiration. The RFID tags are encoded
in accordance with the latest ATA spec 2000 standard,
which includes, at least, birth identification data and, in
most case, a re-writable area for further data to be add-
ed if necessary during the life vests lifecycle.
Each company willing to use the RFID technology will
have to purchase a set of RFID readers and adapted
software in order to enable the tags.
