PROJECT SCRIPT

First of all we decided to spice things up, by focusing on Roberts case, presented at
the start of the book, because we thought it didn't get enough attention in the book, and the
idea of an exploration would definitely be something Margo would like.
Also, while reading, we were constantly hoping for Quentin and Margo to end up having a
good ending, so we made quentin be more adventorous, coming out of his comfort zone, and
we made Margo arrive to the conclusion that she doesnt need to "escape" her life in order to
get rid of other people's expectations, but rather to just find the right people that see and
accept her as a human being, instead of "the cool girl".

*Everyone presents themselves and they tell what they did*

After the night’s adventure, Quentin went to sleep. He laid in bed and thought about
everything until eventually he closed his eyes. Margo showed up in front of him with her fist
full of tiny paper houses. She took Q’s hand and gave him all of them saying that she had
lived there for 18 years and had never once in her life come across anyone who cared about
anything that mattered.
Quentin responded that he cares. She was staring at him and pointing at the oak tree
from their childhood. But, the fact was that the 36 years old man wasn’t there. Q saw only the
blood, but not the body. He turned around when suddenly the man in the gray suit attacked
her with a gun while saying that she was a paper girl who needed to find her true identity, so
she didn’t have to be there.

Q suddenly woke up. He understood it was a dream. A tense one, a bizarre one, a scary one,
not because of the dead man only, but because Margo was in danger.
But why the man? It seemed like there was a weird connection between them. What was the
truth? He had to find out.

After his dream, Quentin went to school and told his group. They weren’t phased, but after a
few days when they realized that Margo was gone, they decided to look for her and Quentin
was even more determined since Robert was in the dream. What if he’s not dead…What if
he’s after Margo…What if…again and again.

Quentin, Ben, Radar and Lacey started looking for clues to find Margo, but it was getting
harder and harder. It was like she didn’t want to be found. Eventually, after going to her
house and finding more clues they arrived at her hiding spot. The SunTrust building. Margo
was sleeping on an improvised bed that was covered with newspapers and other files that
were all related to Robert Joyner’s case. After she woke up they all discussed about the fact
that he might not have been dead.

She seemed determined to continue solving the mystery she was interested in 9 years ago.
Just to satisfy her, the group decided to give it a try and to find Robert’s wife. She lived on
Jefferson Road so it wasn’t hard to find her house.

After talking to his wife, the group found a map in Robert’s old house that led to a city that
did not exist, called Agloe. While it was the only clue, they had to go there. A 21-hour
journey just to find someone that was supposed to be dead.
After almost a whole day they arrived to/at the inexistent city. The group had no hopes, but
Robert was surprisingly easy to find. Ben suddenly yelled that he saw him. Margo and
Quentin were staring at the window, with their mouths wide-open.

The man seemed panicked and surprised, since the city was empty. He seemed older and
more tired but somehow…happier.

After he got down, they talked. Ben asked the man if his name was Robert. He denied it by
saying that this name died a long time ago.
Quentin and Margo couldn’t say anything because the shock left them speechless.
Robert asked who they were and after telling him everything, he was just as surprised as the
rest of them were.
Margo asked quietly what was the reason of his disappearance. She then understood his
motives, cause he couldn’t stand living in a paper town. That’s why he faked his death and
left so he could live without having to bear people’s masks. Just like Margo had wanted to.
Just to disappear. Robert affirmed that nothing felt real. He was trapped in a paper town full
of people that cared only about themselves and their image.

Finally, Quentin spoke about insecurities and the complexity of his mind. He was telling both
Margo and Robert some harsh truths, making them realize something.
Margo raised her eyebrows, seeming rather surprised that Quentin said so much. Robert
looked like he was processing something profound. Quentin reminded that the town was
paper, but the memories were not. For once, everyone went silent.

After a few hours the conversations made their effect. It convinced that Robert still has a
chance in Orlando. He’d be a new person. After so many years…all it took was a group of
curious teenagers and their convincing methods. Ben, Radar and Lacey were extremely
excited because everything was over.

Margo and Quentin finally admitted that they were made for each other after so so many
years, knowing that they were the closest ones for each other.

Nothing ever happens like you imagine it will.

In life, things always take unexpected turns, and that's a thing we decided to portray in
our mini movie. We always have expectations, for how things would happen, for how
someone will treat us, for everything and anything. But usually, expectations don't meet
reality. Life takes turns that we can't control, but what we can control, is how we act.
Sometimes, assumptions get in our way, making us lose hope and faith. We hope our message
has been received. Thank you for your attention!
