with fluid heating system. A roof on the shafts must be fitted, for
external installations. If the hydraulic power unit is not installed in
an enclosed compartment, an enclosed casing which contains and
protects it must be installed; access to the inside of this casing (by
means of a key) must only be permitted to skilled personnel or the
maintenance technician.

7.5) Optional
b
It is advisable ordering the optional devices with the a
unit.
a) Motorised floor doors - Fig. 7
The motorised floor doors option is used for avoiding
the manual opening and closing of floor doors.
It is forseen either for indoor or outdoor.
The door opens automatically when the lift is at the floor
and the floor button is pressed (user in lift) or the call
button is pressed (user outside). It closes again after
remaining open for an adjustable preset time.
The optional device consists of a package installed at
the top of the doorpost (Fig. 7), which contains an
electric motor.
The horizontal unit (Fig 7b) carries a switch (Fig.7a)
which switches the automatic system on or off.
In case of mains power failure or if the ON/OFF push
button is on OFF position, the door will be free to move
as a normal door.
During the motorized movement the automatic door
package is provided with safety devices that prevent
crashings and impacts with the doors to persons or FIG.8
objects placed in the radius of action.
b) Interphone - Fig. 8
The interphone is a device enabling voice
communication between the user and the outside.
An interphone c•„9ce is installed on the platform
allowing both to talk and to hear;a handset with bell is
installed at the floor.
The pression of the alarm bell push button (Fig. 8/a) on
the platform causes the ring of the handset bell.
a
When the handset is raised, the communication between
the two persons is immediately settled.
The communication is interrupted when is lowered the b
handset.
The interphone also works even in the instance of a 7.6) Use reccomandations

- Use the emergency door release key only in extreme
situations (Fig. 9/a).
- The max. loading rate is one disabled person and a
possible attendant, any other different use is forbidden.
7.7) Emergency landing operation in case of mains
power supply failure (black out)
In case of power failure during the platform operation,it
is possible to reach the lower floorand get off the a
platform.
This is immediately recognizable as the platform lights
turn off,the alarm light switches and only the down
buttons remain active. The only possible operation is to
press the push button to reach the lower floors; the
operation is similar to a normal movement like the door
release.
FIG.10
WARNING: Once arrived to the floor and close
the door, the plattform descends to floor zero and
is not useble anymore until the electrical power a
supply is back.
7.8) Passenger rescue in case of lift breakdown
The passenger rescue is necessary in case of platform
operation faults. Before starting the recovery
procedure, the power supply to the platform must be
deactivated using the differential safety breaker.
In this position the platform does not move accidentally
but cabin lights, interphone and alarm devices remain
in work position.

SAFETY Check that the positions of terminal stop at floors an the
DEVICE sensors are the required ones. n n
Check the door interlocks with the relative locks. n n
Check operation of the limit microswitch at the top of the
guides. n n
Check operation of the system providing self-levelling at
the floors. n n
MECHANICAL Check that the cable connections are fixed correctly (Fig.
COMPONENTS 14/a). n n
Check the entire length of the cables for signs of wear or
broken strands. n n
Check that there are no signs of corrosion along the
cables and that these are coated with a layer of protective
grease. n n
Check the races of the return pulleys on the cylinder for
wear. n
Check the slide blocks on the carriage for wear. n
Check the position of the cross when the carriage is
against the mechanic limit stops (see Par. 15 page 28). n
SAFETY GEAR Check operation of the safety devices. n n

9.2) Cable maintenance Cables up to 80-100 metres long can be unwound on
The cables must be replaced if even just one of their the ground.
strands breaks. Longer lengths normally have to be wound onto a reel
or capstan, which should be placed on suitable trestles
- Wear for unwinding.
Noticeable wear of strands is a forewarning of breakage
and beyond a certain limit a worn strand should be
considered as broken, and thus replaced. FIG.15
This limit can be considered reached when the diameter
of the strand appears on visual inspection to have been RIGHT
reduced to one half of its original diameter.
If seriously worn strands are found, increase the
frequency of cable inspections.
- Corrosion
Like wear, corrosion leads to strand breakage, but
corrosion is to be considered a more serious form of
deterioration than wear causing the same reduction in
diameter. WRONG
The rule above therefore still applies, but should be
applied even more strictly.
Reduction in a cable's diameter may be a sign of internal
corrosion.
The inside of the cable should be checked periodically
in order to identify any deterioration due to corrosion.
15
7502028
FIG.16
9.3) Return pulley maintenance
After a given period of operation, the return pulley races
may be damaged beyond the acceptable limit, causing
damage to the cables.
Whenever the cables are replaced, check that the
bottoms of the pulley races are smooth and their
diameter is 7-10% greater than the nominal diameter
of the new cable.
a
WARNING: During maintenance operations
under the platform,it is necessary to use the relative
safety blocks assembled on the rail fastenings (Fig.16/
a) and operate the stop in pit button (Fig.16/b).

• Use a disc cutter to cut the cable, taking great care to
make a clean cut without cutting individual strands
separately.
• Remove any dust left on the cut end.
• Check that the cut has not loosened the braiding on a
the cable to be used.
10) WIRING DIAGRAMS
Wiring diagrams are in the brochure enclosed to the
unit.
11) VIBRATIONS AND AERIAL NOISE OF THE UNIT
a) Vibrations
The unit induces vibrations on the passenger with: 200
- Low frequency and moderate acceleration
- Brief exposure cycles for the transported person
It is a trifling parameter for safety.
b) Aerial noise: less than 70 dbA
12) INFORMATION ABOUT UNIT PARTS AND
MATERIALS ELIMINATION
a) Rubber and plastic materials elimination
Put them in cleaned containers and confer them to
authorized centres for the salvage dump according to
the set of rules in force.
