CHAPTER FOUR

4.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

4.1 Introduction

This chapter is explaining in broad sense about conclusion, recommendation and appendices
as follows;

4.2 Conclusion

Generally, the apprenticeship trainings are more important because they help to practically
apply the theories learnt in class directly to organizations. The apprenticeship works in Akheri
ward have increased my abilities to apply what the entire apprenticeship studied in class to the
real environment. All the duties performed during apprenticeship training particularly,
exposed the apprenticeship programme to the real world and raised awareness on ways of
dealing with rather than relying on the theoretical perspectives in class.

The apprenticeship programmes are exposed to many skills through apprenticeship trainings.
The skills like team work, communication skills, community worker approach skills and
mobilization skills are more likely to be acquired through apprenticeship trainings. In the
other hand, it is through the apprenticeship trainings whereby the apprentice was exposed to
the real situations of what happens in our communities.

4.3 Recommendations

4.3.1 Recommendations to Tengeru Institute of Community Development

The Tengeru Institute of Community Development should ensure addition of time for
apprenticeship trainings. Students should attend the apprenticeship trainings twice during
their study periods. The first time to attend the apprenticeship trainings should be when they
are in first year and the second time during second year. This will make a student to have
enough time to acquire more knowledge and skills with respect to his or her specialization.

Not only that but also, the institute should request the apprenticeship attachment areas on
behalf of students. Currently, students themselves are required to find the offices for
apprenticeship trainings; as a result they face some challenges which are more or less difficult

12
to be handled on their own. The institute should identify potential areas of specializations,
request apprenticeship vacancies and then distribute students in groups for apprenticeship
practical trainings.

4.3.2 Recommendations to apprentice

Apprentice should follow the orders and regulations from their apprenticeship training
supervisors without showing any kind of non-respect in order to acquire more knowledge and
skills from their immediate supervisors in the apprenticeship work stations. They should also
show higher respect to every person during their apprenticeship trainings at the apprenticeship
work stations. They should not and clients without discriminate anyone in their attempts to
learn and serve the office works.

Again, the field trainees should be a good symbol of the Tengeru Institute of Community
Development in all their ways during the field trainings. They should be good ambassadors of
the institute by creating good images that depict the general status of the institute. They
should not engage in violence related matters during field trainings. The field trainees should
be acting as bridges to unite people and work in team works during the trainings for the sake
of reaching desired goals of their trainings.
