GENERAL NOTES ON PRDS & QUENCH WATER VALVES

 The Vendor shall quote complete Pressure reducing De- Superheating


valve (PRDS Valve) with piston type pneumatic actuator, complete
quench water valve with pneumatic actuator & including all the
accessories of both the valves to make the system complete as per the
specification & service requirement.
 The vendor shall also quote for consumables, commissioning & two
years operation spares.
 The distance between the Control room & the Valves (PRDS Valve &
Quench Water valve) is 650 meter approx.
 In addition to the Specifications, given herewith the following shall also
apply-
 The plant is classified as Hazardous area under Zone 2, Group IIC, T3 as
per IEC 79 or equivalent.
 All field mounted instruments/equipment shall be suitable for
mounting, function and storage in tropical climate as described below:
.Climate Design Condition : Tropical with monsoon rain.
Temp. range :-1.5 Deg C to 50 Deg C (85 deg C max surface
In sun)
 Temperature range for actuator accessories: Suitable form service /
surrounnding temperature. Party to specify,
 Relative Humidity :100%
 All the electric/Electronic equipment shall be tropicalized & immune to
RF & EM Interferences. RFI & EMI tolerance limits must be indicated in
the offer.
 Copper/Copper alloys are not to be used for tubing, valves, fittings etc.
or on any part of an instrument exposed to the atmosphere or the
medium as ammonia vapours will be present occasionally. Also valves
accessories in contact with plant atmosphere shall be resistant to
surrounding atmosphere containing Co2, Ammonia, Urea, Urea vapors.
 Fitting, tubing for pneumatic connections & bolts, fixing screws for
actuators, SS304/316 shall be used.
 Field mounted instruments shall be installed intrinsically safe having
ExibliCT3 Certificate & IP55 enclosures.
 Solenoids valves or servo valves shall be Ex-proof to meet Hazardous
area classification as given above.
 Termination shall be arranged inside junction Box.
 Signal shall be segregated according to the voltage level.
 Air tubing shall be SS304/316.
 Pre dispatch inspection: Vendor shall inform readiness of material one
week in advance for Inspection. However waiver of pre dispatch
inspection by M/S N.F.L shall be intimated to Vendor.
Party shall confirm the submission of following Test certificates in
original duly stamped by Third Party inspection agency:
 The valve shall be in accordance with ANSI B 16.34 standard and
indicated in the specification.
 Party shall furnish quality assurance plan along with their quotation.

 Party shall furnish quality assurance plan along with their quotation
 It is the responsibility of the Vendor to ensure that the valves are
manufactured and tested in accordance with Indian Boiler regulation
Act-1950 and this is certified by supplying the certificate form IIIC with
each valve including all pressure bearing parts of instruments to be
mounted on Boiler feed water & steam systems in complete accordance
with above mentioned boiler regulations.
 Inspection as per requirement of technical scope of supply will be done
by third party (Lloyds or Beuro or TUV), Inspection charges shall be
included in quoted price. NFL representatives may also inspect the
testing if required.
 Certificate of conformity.
 Material test certificate for body, Bonnet, trim. Yoke, actuator, studs &
nuts, flanges, Branches and all internal indicating chemical composition,
heat treatment, Mechanical properties etc.
 Ultrasonic examination as per ANSI B16:34 annex C for Body, Bonnet,
Flanges and Branches etc. with acceptance as per ANSI B16:34 Annex-E
 Dye penetrate test as per ANSI B16:34 for Butt welded ends after
Hydrostatic.
 WPS, WPQ, and PQR for all weld joints of valves.
 Magnetic particle examination of all welds joints as per ASME V Article 7
and acceptance as per ASME VIII Div. 1 Appendix 6.
 Radiographic examinations of all welds joints as per ASME V article 2 and
acceptance as per ASME VIII Div.1 UW51
 Ultrasonic examinations of all welds joints as per ASME V article 7 and
acceptance as per ASME VIII Div. 1 Appendix 6.
 Post weld heat treatment record of all welds joints.
 Hydrostatic of valve body using water as per ANSI B16:34
 Seat leakage of valves as per NIT requirement.
 The steam conversion valve 36-PV-01/3 shall be regarded as "Special
class" valve, even if this may not be required according to the
temperature pressure tables given in ANSI B16-1
Notes
 The offered PRDS valve with accessories should be compatible to direct
replacement of existing PRDS valve and inlet, outlet, water inlet end
connections should be suitable to retrofit with existing line with end
connections. The details of end connections of exist in valve are given
below:
1. Valve having Horizontal inlet connections, Horizontal water inlet end
connections opposite to inlet end connection & bottom outlet end
connection.
2. Distance from outlet end connection to center line of inlet end
connection is 305 mm, Distance from outlet end connection to center
line of water inlet end connection is 187 mm, Distance from inlet end
connection to center line of outlet end connection is 305 mm, Distance
from water inlet end connection to center line of outlet end connection
is 406 mm, Distance form inlet end connection to water inlet end
connection is 711 mm. The positive tolerances in End connections are
acceptable.
 The offered quench valve with accessories should be compatible to
direst replacement of existing quench valve and inlet & outlet end
connections should be suitable to retrofit with existing line with end
connections. The distance of inlet & outlet end connections of existing
valve is 305 mm.
 The offer shall be complete with specific catalogue, GA Drawings,
Schematic control functional drawings of actuator with accessories etc
of offered valve indicating make & model no's as same is required for
offer evaluation.
 All the deviation is to be clearly indicated.
 The supplier is to clarify in the offer that the following
documents/Certificates shall be supplied along with the main supply-
1. Instruction, Operation & Maintenance manual for PRDS Valve, Quench
valve & their accessories.
2. Documentations for checks performed during constructions, Hydrostatic
body test and dye penetrate test etc.
3. Material & Workmanship guarantee / warranty certificates.
4. All the Bidders who are interested to submit the bid may visit the site to
see the Actual valve installation conditions at site before submitting the
quotations.
 The max. Pipe straight length available in upstream (inlet) of PROS valve
is approx. 2.5 meters & max. Pipe straight length available in
downstream (outlet) of PRDS valve is approx. 9.0 meters. This is for
reference only.
 The max. Pipe straight length available in upstream (inlet) of Quench
valve is approx. 1.0. meters & max. Pipe straight length available in
downstream (outlet) of Quench valve is approx. 200 mm, This is for
reference only.
