Deep Beam-1

(1) A transfer girder with a clear span of 7.5m is designed to support a 9000kN column load and 300kN/m uniform load. (2) Using the empirical design method, the required area of tension steel is calculated as 13371.43mm^2. (3) Shear is checked at the critical section 2.063m from the face of the column, where the shear stress of 1.22N/mm^2 is less than the allowable 4.24N/mm^2. Therefore, the design satisfies shear requirements.
