RECRUITMENT NOTICE FOR 45 POSTS OF CONSTABLE (EX) UNDER

SPORTS QUOTA

1. Invitation of Applications:-

Online applications are invited for direct recruitment to 45 Temporary posts (male and female)
of Constable (Executive), under sports quota, of Group “C” in the pay scale of Central Pay Level-3
as per 7th CPC plus allowances as applicable from time to time, through URL mentioned on the
website of Chandigarh Police from 27.10.2023 to 18.11.2023 till 11:59 PM.

2. Category-wise Details of Posts:-

In case vacancies in any category remain unfilled due to insufficient number of candidates, such
vacancies may be filled by candidates of other category, strictly in order of merit.

3. Eligibility Standards for these posts are as under:-

(A) Minimum Educational Qualification: (as on 27.10.2023)

Matric (10th or equivalent) from a recognized board of Secondary Education

(B) Age as on 27.10.23 :

18-30 years (General Category)
18-33 years (OBC Category)
18-35 years (SC Category)

Age Relaxation

a) Relaxable upto maximum age of 45 years for Ex-servicemen

b) Departmental Candidates of Chandigarh Police/ Chandigarh Police Personnel upto 40

years

c) Relaxation for wards of serving/retired/deceased Police Personnel (except dismissed,

compulsory retired or removed from service) of Chandigarh Police

i) Relaxation of 2 years to the wards of serving/Retired Police Personnel of

Chandigarh Police.
ii) Relaxation of 3 years to the wards of Police Personnel who died in service

(C) Driving Skills (For male candidates only):

Possession of valid Driving license to drive both two-wheelers and four-wheel vehicles, is
mandatory for male candidates of all categories, as on the date of submission of online application.
 4. Application Fee:-

General candidates - ₹1000/-

OBC & EWS candidates - ₹ 800/-
SC candidates - ₹ 500/-
ESM candidates - Exempted

NOTE: Collection charges or processing fee charged by the bank or intermediary, payable by the
candidates, shall be in addition to application fee as above payable to Chandigarh Police.

5. Criteria for Selection:-

A. All candidates who fill online application form and provisionally found eligible under sports
quota, will have to undergo through Physical Measurement & Efficiency Test (PEMT) as per
following minimum eligibility standards :-

a) Height 165 cm (Male)

157 cm (Female)

Relaxation:-
Residents of notified Hill Area by 5 cm
Wards of Police Personnel (WPP) by 5 cm

b) Chest (only for male) 84-88 cm (Unexpanded-Expanded)

Relaxation:-
Residents of notified Hill Area by 5 cm
Wards of Police Personnel (WPP) by 5 cm

*Wards of Police Personnel can avail only one relaxation, either of height or of chest

c) Race
For sportspersons upto 35 years of age 1600 meters in 390 seconds (Male)

800 meters in 270 seconds (female)

For sportspersons more than 35 years of 1600 meters in 600 seconds (Male)
age
800 meters in 390 seconds (female)

d) Long Jump (three attempts)

For sportspersons upto 40 years of age 3.50 m (Male)

2.30 m (Female)
For sportspersons more than 40 years of Exempted
age

e) High Jump (3 attempts)

For sportspersons upto 40 years of age 1.0 m (Male)

0.75 m (female)
For sportspersons more than 40 years of Exempted
age

B. All the candidates who qualify PE&MT will be awarded marks (maximum 50 marks) as per
their achievement in sports as per the criteria mentioned in Standing Order no. 51/2023 (Para
10.5).

Final merit list for each category shall be based on the marks obtained out of maximum 50 marks
as per the sports achievement of the candidates who qualify PE&MT.
 6. General Instructions/ Guidelines:-

1. Apply online well in advance without waiting for last date of submission of online
application form.
2. Please read the instructions and procedures carefully before you start filling the
Online Application Form and check all the particulars filled up in application
form to ensure the correctness of information.
3. Candidates are expected to have their own email ID and mobile phone number for
registration for online application form.
4. Final submission of the Application form will only be after payment of the fee
through Recruitment Portal (if applicable).
5. Candidate shall be considered only against the category against which he/she
applies. Any change of category after submission of application form shall not be
permitted.
6. No request for change of any particular field on the application form after the
final submission shall be entertained by the Department.
7. No offline application form or copy of downloaded application form will be
accepted by the Chandigarh Police Department.
8. All the Certificates relating to educational qualification/eligibility conditions, etc.
will be determined with regard to cut off date for recruitment i.e. 27.10.2023,
unless otherwise specified.
9. Form incomplete in any respect shall be summarily rejected.
10. The decision of the Recruitment Board in all matters relating to acceptance or
rejection of an application, eligibility/suitability of the candidates, mode and
criteria for selection etc. will be final and binding on the candidates. No query or
correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
11. If on verification at any stage starting from submission of application form till
appointment, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility
conditions or it is found that the information furnished is false or incorrect, his/her
candidature will be cancelled and he/she will also be liable to be criminally
prosecuted. This is irrespective of whether or not the candidate benefitted by
furnishing the false or incorrect information in his/her application. Even after
appointment, at any later stage, if it is found that any information furnished by
any candidate is incorrect, he/she shall be liable to be prosecuted legally.
12. The Department reserves the right to call upon any candidate personally along
with printed copy of the application form/original certificates/photocopy of self-
attested certificates/Photo/identity Proof i.e. identity Card/Driving
License/Passport/Voter Card/Pan Card/Aadhaar Card etc. at any stage of the
Recruitment.
13. Only eligible candidates will be called to participate in the selection process. The
applicants may, therefore, go through all the terms and conditions carefully before
applying for the post.
14. A hard copy of the admit card in prescribed format with recent passport size
photograph affixed on it, along with physical copy of Id proof in original shall be
required at each stage of recruitment process.
15. Chandigarh Police reserves the right to defer, cancel or postpone the selection
process at any time without assigning any reasons.

 Number of posts/ category mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and may vary
at the time of appointment.

 DGP, Chandigarh Police reserves the right to change any condition/criteria or

 Physical Efficiency & Measurement Test (PE&MT) will tentatively start in the 2 nd week of
December, 2023 at Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh. The Schedule for PE&MT and link
to download admit cards will be available on the official website of Chandigarh Police
www.chandigarhpolice.gov.in. No separate intimation regarding PE&MT will be sent to
individual candidates.
