Problem CLO4 [C4-PLO3]

E-Tend, a prominent water supplier, faces operational challenges in its legacy system, particularly in
the synchronization of daily logistics across various city zones, encompassing both commercial and
residential areas. The logistical issues are exacerbated by fluctuating transportation costs and heavy
traffic, eroding customer trust. Additionally, the Cash-to-Pay cycle requires streamlining for a smoother
process. To address these concerns and enhance customer engagement, E-Tend seeks to implement
an updated ERP system. The company envisions a cloud-based solution, coupled with innovative
features such as an E-Wallet system, to introduce different offers such as redeeming points, vouchers
and improved logistic management.
Following are the key requirements by the company for the ERP system:

1. The introduction of E-Wallets and E-commerce capabilities for the customer engagement. E-
Tend aims to implement an E-Wallet system, providing customers with convenient and secure
online transactions.

2. Addressing challenges in logistics, E-Tend emphasizes the need to fortify supplier chain
relationships. This involves optimizing delivery routes in commercial and residential areas,
ensuring timely deliveries to retailers, and overcoming transportation hurdles.

Required Solution:
You are required to answer the following questions by designing a dummy database. The database
should contain at least 3 different areas for commercial delivery (at least 5 different companies in each
area), 3 different residential areas having at least 10 houses in each area, and 3 different retail shops
either in commercial or residential areas.

a) Design an E-Wallet Module (considering the customers of above mentioned required database)
having following functions :

(i) The customers can receive promotions/vouchers online.

(ii) Streamlining financial transactions and ensuring prompt payments through the
integration of the E-Wallet system.
(iii) Refund money to the E-Wallet in cases of poor service experiences, fostering customer
trust and loyalty
(iv) Implement automated reminders and notifications for pending payments, ensuring a
proactive approach to the Cash-to-Pay cycle.

b) Design Logistics Module should have following functions:

(i) Route Optimization: Streamlining delivery routes to mitigate traffic-related delays.

(ii) Real-time Tracking: Ensuring visibility and transparency in logistics for both the
company and customers i.e. Integrate GPS technology for live tracking and rerouting
capabilities
