these.
(c) What are pathogens? Name two pathogens each that cause diseases in
(i) plants and (ii) animals.

3. Justify the following statements with correct explanations[2marks X 2 = 4marks]


(a) ‘In the absence of micro-organisms the earth would become a heap of
dead plants and animals.’.
(b)’Food from puffed or enlarged cans should not be consumed’.

4. What is food poisoning and food preservation? State and explain any 4
methods of food preservation. [ 6marks]

6. State and explain any 5 harmful effects of micro-organisms [ 5marks]

7. State the major modes of transmission of diseases in human beings and the
