Assignment 1: Engineering Drafting


Expected learning outcomes
1. To explain the principles and conventional representation of engineering
drawings according to engineering standards
2. To create engineering drawing by using drawing instruments and
engineering-specific software in CAD for engineering communication and
documentation

Submission
1. Submit (a) a hard copy of your drawing to your lecturer in person or via
pigeonhole and (b) a pdf file of your drawing onto Centralised Blackboard
before 12:00 p.m. (noon), 9 Oct 2023 (Mon). Marks will be deducted for late
submission.
2. Name your pdf file with your student number, e.g. 12345678A.pdf if your
student number is 12345678A.

Task
Given an engineering part called “Locating Guide”.
1. Copy the following top view, side view, and symbol of projection system on
the given template (downloadable from Blackboard) with a suitable scale.
2. Hence, construct the missing front view and add an isometric drawing of the
entire object on the same paper by using drawing instruments.
3. Fill in all the necessary information in the title block in your drawing. Use A01
as Drawing number on the given template.
Note: No need to dimension the object in the drawing. [100%]
