4 Commissioning – overview
The 'Stations' on the FCnet, such as control panels FC2020/FC2040 and fire
terminals FT2040 and FT2080, are connected to the power supply and
commissioned by the installation and commissioning personnel.
Networked 'Stations' must only be commissioned with SintesoWorks.
Standalone control panels can be commissioned with or without SintesoWorks.
NOTICE
NOTICE
The table below provides an overview of the procedure for commissioning the
'Stations'. The letters A, B1, B2 and C refer to the detailed descriptions in the
following chapters.

Commissioning – overview
4 Definition of terms
Detailed information about the result of auto-configuration can be found in the 'List of
compatibility'.
Pre-configuration The logical elements incl. customer texts are created in SintesoWorks prior to commissioning:
In the 'Detection' task card up to and including 'Zone' level
In the 'Control' task card up to and including 'Control' level ('Fire control', 'Evac control',
'Counter control')
In addition, the logical elements can subsequently be assigned as far as possible for alarming
and control.
Logical channels can be preconfigured. This makes sense if customer texts are to be
configured down to this level.
Read in by line The FDnet detector line can be read in by sending a command via the Person Machine
Interface. During this process, the devices are listed without generating sections and zones i.e.
no corresponding logical elements are created in the 'Detection tree' and 'Control tree'.
Non-stationary devices Point detectors installed on a base apart from radio detectors.

'Line Fault' error message [ 76]
The following error messages may appear when collective detector lines are being
operated:
'Open line'
– The end-of-line element is not recognized or a detector or base is
defective.
– The collective detector line is no longer used. If the collective detector line
is no longer used, you must select the 'Not configured' setting in the detail
editor of the collective detector line for 'Collective line type' in

'Line fault'
– Error message from detector, base or line due to a change in line
resistance. The cause may be a creeping short-circuit or an open line
which results in the detectors consuming irregular amounts of power or the
resistance value of the end-of-line element changing.
'No line supply'
– Problems with the hardware on this 'Line' or an external supply on this
'Line'
– Incorrectly cabled lines, e.g. L1+ commutation with L2- and L1-
commutation with L2+

- If the error message reappears at a resistance value of 3.3 k and 4.7 k
hours, days or weeks later, check the line specifications, base contacts and
'Detectors' for creeping short-circuit or open line. The detector line could be
in the gray zone.

Commissioning control panel with collective detector lines
19 Troubleshooting procedure
Troubleshooting
1. Disconnect the collective detector line in the middle by e.g. removing the base
cover.
2. Measure each line half on its own.
3. Disconnect the faulty section in the middle.
4. Once the fault has been rectified, reconnect the disconnected line sections
correctly and measure the entire collective detector line.
5. Reinsert the end-of-line element and the 'Detectors'.
6. Connect the collective detector line to the control panel.
A 'Detector' with KMK = 1 increases the line current by approx. 0.1 mA.
Troubleshooting
If the line current remains unaltered, the 'Detector' may be defective or the
connections corroded.
If the line current increases by more than the detector's quiescent current, the
'Detector' has residual current. Swap the 'Detector' in this case.
1. Switch the 'Zone' on again.
The error message should not be displayed any longer.
2. Test the system function as described above and continue with the completion
work.
