What is AI
Definition of AI
• learn. The goal of this branch of AI programming is to collect data and create rules that
will turn it into knowledge. Algorithms, often referred to as rules, provide specific
instructions to computer hardware on how to do a certain task.
• Reasoning. The optimum algorithm to deliver the required result is what this field of AI
programming is all about.
• Creativity. To produce novel pictures, words, melodies, and thoughts, this branch of
artificial intelligence makes use of neural networks, rule-based systems, statistical
methods, and other AI technologies.
6|Page
• Self-correction. This feature of AI programming is to continuously improve algorithms and
make sure they deliver the most precise results. (BURNS, 2022)
Types of AI
Search engines, recommendation engines, and voice assistants are just a few
examples of applications that employ ANI, which is now the most used kind of AI. These
machines lack the ability to reason or think beyond the confines of their specialized
programming and are only programmed to carry out certain tasks, such as information
searching, product recommendation, or question answering.

perform. AGI is still a hypothetical concept and no system has yet been developed that meets
the criteria for AGI.
8|Page
However, the development of AGI is a very challenging task and many technical, ethical and
social challenges must be addressed before it can become a reality. Some experts believe that
AGI may present significant risks to society.
Artificial SUPERINTELLIGENCE
9|Page
In general, ASI is still considered science
fiction, and it is uncertain whether it will ever become a reality. However, the hunt for AGI and
ASI is making important strides in the realm of AI research and is a topic that scientists and
academics are always interested in and exploring.
Reactive MACHINES
An example
of a reactive machine is IBM's Deep Blue chess-playing computer, which defeated world chess
champion Garry Kasparov in 1997. Deep Blue was programmed to evaluate potential moves
based on pre-defined rules and react to the current state of the game. and algorithms.
Reactive machines
are different from other artificial intelligence (AI) systems like machine learning or artificial
general intelligence in that they are built to learn from the past and get better with practice.
Although reactive machines have certain limits in terms of capability, they may be highly
useful in some fields where real-time feedback is essential, such as robotics, manufacturing, or
gaming.
Reactive
machines are an essential form of artificial intelligence that have many uses across several
sectors. Although they may not be as sophisticated as other forms of AI, their narrow focus and
10 | P a g e
capacity to react swiftly and precisely to real-time input makes them an essential tool for many
applications.
Limited MEMORY
The stochastic gradient descent technique, which is frequently applied in deep learning
models, is an illustration of a restricted memory algorithm. This approach adjusts the model
parameters based on a tiny randomly selected fraction of the training data at each iteration
rather than utilizing the whole training data set.
11 | P a g e
Theory OF MIND
The capacity to ascribe one's own and other people's mental states, including as
beliefs, wants, intentions, and emotions, is referred to as theory of mind. In other words, it is
the capacity to see that others may have feelings, opinions, and thoughts that are different from
your own. This idea is crucial to the study of psychology and cognitive science because it
explains how people and other animals relate to one another and interpret their surroundings.
One important aspect of social cognition that is necessary for effective social engagement and
communication is the capacity to assign others' mental states.

AI in the Year 2030: A Vision
Pervasive AI:
16 | P a g e
Instead of trying to understand AI, companies should focus on solutions that solve
these business problems. AI is the driving force behind intelligent automation systems, yet
these platforms have developed to keep the complexity of AI away from the business process
professionals who utilize them. This new era of AI, “ubiquitous AI,” marks the end of
technology paralysis and the beginning of transformational enablement.
So where do you start? First, you should review your most critical
workflows and determine bottlenecks. AI will be especially helpful for procedures that largely
rely on applications, forms, handwritten text, and other documents. Consider the various
activities that occur throughout the process, the types of data and systems used, the human
groups that execute the process, and all the interactions between these elements. Look for an
intelligent automation supplier that complements your unique workflows (such as loan
processing or client onboarding) and the intricacies of your business.
When you start with your AI projects, start with relatively simple
activities to get everyone familiar with the technology, achieve quick success, and build
excitement within the organization. For example, in a loan application process, you might start
by analyzing the documents submitted by clients (application, proof of income, etc.),
categorize them by type, and send them to human workers to continue the process. Over time,
you can also use AI to improve the customer service experience, using data from CRM systems
to direct customers to appropriate resources, or to detect the angry tone of an email and send it
to a trained expert in this case.
17 | P a g e
With an intelligent automation platform powered by AI, other projects will
become clearer. Many platforms have a discovery process that tracks employee activity and
helps identify repetitive tasks that may be good candidates for automation. And, the AI
solutions you implement will improve over time. AI continues to evolve and learn as it is fed
more data. (Jim, 2023)
Autonomous vehicles:
Identification Algorithms
Autonomous vehicles have neural networks and specialized algorithms. These are
artificial intelligence (AI) and machine language (ML) based object recognition algorithms.
These serve to collect data, analyze objects and make correct decisions while on the road.
These features also allow these smart machines to address problems ahead of time in real time
by predicting events through rapid data processing.
Autopilots
18 | P a g e
Recently, Tesla has developed self-driving electric cars with autopilot to enable
automatic steering functions, rapid braking, lane changing, and parking. Adding to these
features, these cars are capable of reducing emissions globally, a historic achievement for fuel-
powered vehicles. Today, some of the biggest cities on earth are home to autonomous cars.
Even driverless heavy trucks have been developed that can deliver goods over long distances.
In the crypto world, blockchain technology uses mathematical algorithms and logic
to create an automated system that is transparent and immutable. In the automotive world, the
combination of blockchain technology and autonomous cars is expected to create a better
autonomous system that increases the transparency and accuracy of decisions made by these
cars. (Jude, 2022)
Revolutionizing Healthcare
By 2021, it is
expected that the market value of AI in
the healthcare sector would be $6.6
billion. Artificial intelligence is gaining
popularity across various industries. But
AI is much more than that. AI experts
consider it a revolutionary technology
that could benefit many industries. The
impact of AI in the healthcare sector is
truly life-changing. In clinical procedures, medication development, surgery, and data
management, it promotes innovation. AI technology is also rapidly reaching hospitals. AI
applications are focused on three key areas of investment: digitization, engagement and
diagnostics. Looking at some examples of artificial intelligence in healthcare, it is clear that
there are exciting developments in incorporating AI into medical services.
19 | P a g e
Robotic doctors
AI is less exciting than robots. However, these are not the human droids of sci-fi movies. We
are referring to sophisticated, intelligent devices made for certain purposes. Using solely its AI
brain, a robot in China was able to pass the medical licensure test in 2017. In the same year,
the first semi-automated surgical robot was used to narrow blood vessels as small as 0.03mm.
Intelligent robots are also used as transportation units and as recovery and
counseling support. Transport nurse robots travel the hospital routes to deliver medical
supplies. Most of these robots are not fully autonomous. However, these machines show great
potential to change the way medical procedures are performed.
Precision medicine
Precision medicine is about providing the right treatment based on the patient's
characteristics and behavior. Adequate treatment is equally essential for correct diagnosis. This
mainly means the right prescription and recovery routines to get the best results. Precision
medicine relies on the interpretation of large amounts of data. Patient data is used to determine
the most effective drugs.
20 | P a g e
collect a lot of information from their patients. The data ends up on a hard drive or filing
cabinet. AI medication systems can navigate through these files to help doctors tailor
medications specifically for individual patients. AI prescription systems are now equipped to
deal with non-compliance with medical prescriptions. They accomplish this by researching the
patient's medical background and figuring out whether or not they are likely to take their
prescription as directed.
AI is here to stay. It will work with doctors instead of machines. The aim is
to provide health services that are more affordable and effective. Although AI is still a relatively
young technology in healthcare, the advancements made thus far are amazing. As this
incredible technology develops over time, we may anticipate advancements and new uses.
Improvements will not only be in the healthcare industry but in other areas as well.

Advanced Robotics
Over the years, manufacturing has advanced greatly. From the early days
of manual labor to today's modern automated
factories, the industry is always looking for ways
to improve efficiency and productivity.
Manufacturing has undergone a change in recent
years because to sophisticated robots and artificial
intelligence (AI). These technologies have
enabled manufacturers to automate more
processes, reduce costs and increase productivity.
The field of
technology known as robotics is concerned with the creation, maintenance, and use of
robots.AI, on the other hand, refers to a technology's capacity to carry out operations that
ordinarily need human intelligence, such as learning, solving problems, and making decisions.
(PlanetTogether, 2023)
Here are a few ways that robotics and AI will influence manufacturing in the future.
1. Increased automation
22 | P a g e
3. Predictive maintenance
AI algorithms can analyze data from sensors and other sources to predict when
equipment needs maintenance, reducing downtime and extending the life of machinery.
4. Custom manufacturing
Robots can perform hazardous or repetitive tasks, reducing the risk of injury to workers.
In general, improved robots and AI allow producers to make items more precisely and
with more personalization while lowering costs and enhancing safety. As these technologies
continue to evolve, there is no doubt that they will play an increasingly important role in the
manufacturing industry.

Sophia's Artificial Intelligence
This article will explore the impact of AI on cyber security and how it can help your business
stay safe online.
24 | P a g e
Advantages of AI in Cybersecurity
Artificial intelligence has many benefits and uses, including cyber security. The
advantages and possible applications of artificial intelligence in cyber security are listed below:
A huge amount of data is exchanged between companies and their customers over a
corporate network. Hackers and anyone who wants to gain unauthorized access to this personal
information should be kept at bay. On the other hand, IT security experts cannot independently
assess this traffic.
Some dangers in a company may be beyond the scope of human perception. Hackers
launch hundreds of millions of attacks each year for a variety of reasons. An unknown threat
can cause catastrophic damage to a network. Even worse is the harm they may cause before
being discovered.
3. Risk Management
Cybercriminals are always looking for new ways to infiltrate company networks and
steal their valuable data. We tend to use the same basic security measures every day. If human
security professionals are lazy or tired, your network can be exposed to attackers.
At any time, business networks face various dangers. Some attacks, such as denial of
service and ransomware, can occur simultaneously. As a result, prioritizing a corporation's
security activities is challenging.
We use more and more devices at work and it is becoming increasingly difficult for
security experts to keep up. AI is becoming increasingly important in device security. Based
on known signatures, antivirus software and virtual private networks (VPNs) can defend your
computer from malware and ransomware.
Company networks are full of activity. Even in a medium organization, there is a lot
of traffic. A large amount of data is exchanged between customers and companies. People and
software must keep this information secure.
9. Risk Predictions
26 | P a g e
how and when a cyber-attack will emerge and prepare accordingly to devote resources to the
most vulnerable areas, thanks to AI in cyber security.
Personal information, such as usernames, passwords, credit card numbers and photo IDs, is
required daily by millions of business websites around the world. For this information to be
secure, organizations need an additional layer of security that protects the back end of the
website.
27 | P a g e
Better education
AI is expected to play a major role in transforming education by 2030. Here is some ways AI can
improve education:
28 | P a g e
• Overall, the use of AI in education can lead to more personalized and effective learning
experiences, better learning outcomes for students, and more efficient teaching practices
for educators.

Advances in AI Technology
30 | P a g e
Current state of AI technology
In 2017, 20% of respondents reported using AI in at least one area of business, and today that
number is 50%, but that rose to 58% in 2019.
31 | P a g e
The average amount of AI skills employed by businesses, such as computer
vision and natural language production, has increased from 1.9 in 2018 to 3.8 in 2022. Among
these capabilities, robotic process automation and computer vision are the most common.
Running every year, natural language text understanding has moved from the middle of the
pack to the front of the computer vision backlist in 2018. (McKinsey, 2022)
32 | P a g e
However, the top use cases have remained relatively stable: Service Operations
Optimization has been ranked number one for each of the past four years.
33 | P a g e
Second, the level of investment in AI is increasing and has increased with
development. For example, five years ago, 40% of respondents in organizations using AI
reported that more than 5% of their digital budget went to AI, and now more than half of
respondents report that level of investment. Looking ahead, 63 percent of respondents said they
expect investment in their organizations to increase over the next three years.
34 | P a g e
Third, specific areas where companies see value in AI have evolved. In
2018, the two functions where most respondents claimed finding value in employing AI were
production and risk. Today, the largest reported revenue impacts are marketing and sales,
product and service development, and corporate finance and strategy, with respondents
reporting the highest cost benefits of AI in supply chain management. The final value derived
from AI remains strong and largely stable. This year, nearly a quarter of respondents reported
at least 5 percent of their organizations' EBIT attributable to AI in 2021, consistent with
findings from the previous two years we tracked this metric. (McKinsey, 2022)
35 | P a g e
Finally, one thing that remains worryingly constant is the level of risk mitigation
that organizations engage in to strengthen digital trust. While the use of AI has increased, there
has not been a significant increase in AI-related risk mitigation since 2019, when we began
collecting this data.

AI and the Job Market
Impact of AI on Employment
The impact of AI on jobs is a topic of great debate and concern. AI has the
potential to create new jobs and increase productivity in many industries, and is expected to
lead to significant job displacement and automation of many traditional jobs. For example,
advances in robotics and AI are expected to impact the manufacturing industry by replacing
many manual jobs with machines. Similarly, the use of AI in the transportation industry is
expected to displace many jobs, including truck drivers and delivery drivers, with autonomous
vehicles becoming more prevalent. However, AI is expected to create new jobs in areas such
as data analysis, programming and AI development, as well as in industries that may
experience growth as a result of AI, such as healthcare and environmental monitoring.
Furthermore, AI has the potential to increase productivity and efficiency in many industries,
which can lead to further economic growth and the creation of new jobs.
42 | P a g e
organizations work to address the potential negative impacts of AI on jobs and support workers
that may be displaced as a result of automation. (Calum, 2023)
43 | P a g e
Expected changes in the job market due to AI by 2030
The widespread use of AI is expected to have a significant impact on the job market by 2030.
While it's hard to predict exactly which jobs will be most affected, there are certain trends and
industries that could see significant changes. One trend expected to continue is the automation
of routine and repetitive tasks. This can affect a wide range of industries, from manufacturing
to customer service. Jobs that involve manual labor, data entry, or simple decision-making are
particularly vulnerable to automation. Conversely, jobs that require creativity, social
intelligence, and complex problem-solving are less likely to be automated.
44 | P a g e
Another trend expected to emerge is the
growing importance of human-machine collaboration. As AI systems become more complex,
they are likely to replace human workers, working alongside them to increase efficiency and
productivity. Workers may need to develop new skills, such as the ability to communicate and
collaborate effectively with AI systems. At the same time, the growth of AI is likely to create
new job opportunities in fields such as data science, machine learning and AI development.
These jobs require employees with advanced technical skills such as programming and data
analysis, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and think creatively.
45 | P a g e
Potential new jobs created by AI
• AI Trainers – As AI systems become more complex, they require larger amounts of data
to learn from. AI trainers are responsible for collecting and labeling datasets used to train
AI algorithms.
• Cyber Security Analysts: As AI is integrated into more systems and processes, the need
for cybersecurity measures will become more critical. Cyber security analysts work to
detect and prevent cyber threats, using AI tools to analyze data and identify patterns.
• AI Data Analysts – As the amount of data generated by AI systems increases, so will the
need for experts who can analyze and interpret that data. AI data analysts will work to
identify trends and patterns in large data sets, providing valuable insights for businesses
and organizations.
46 | P a g e
• Autonomous Vehicle Operators – As autonomous vehicles become more prevalent, there
will be a need for operators who can monitor and control those vehicles from a remote
location. Autonomous vehicle operators will work to ensure that self-driving cars, trucks
and other vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
These are just a few examples of the new jobs that AI may create in the
coming years. As technology continues to evolve, many more exciting and innovative job
opportunities are likely to emerge in fields ranging from engineering and science to the arts
and humanities.
47 | P a g e
Ethics and Governance of AI
AI
governance, on the other hand, involves setting policies and regulations to govern the
development and use of AI. This includes issues such as data privacy, transparency,
accountability and fairness. Effective AI governance is critical to ensuring that AI is used in
48 | P a g e
ways that promote the public good and that its development and deployment is guided by
ethical principles.
Bias and Discrimination: One of the biggest ethical challenges associated with AI is the
potential for bias and discrimination. AI systems are only as unbiased as the data they are
trained on, and if there are biases in that data, the resulting AI system can maintain those biases.
In 2030, as AI becomes more ubiquitous, it risks reinforcing and amplifying existing biases
and discrimination, particularly in areas such as hiring, credit scoring, and criminal justice.
49 | P a g e
Job Displacement: Another big ethical challenge associated with AI is the potential for job
displacement. As AI systems become smarter, they can increasingly replace human workers in
a wide range of industries. This can have significant economic and social consequences,
especially for workers who lack the skills and education needed to adapt to a changing labor
market.
Privacy and security: AI systems are highly data-dependent and, as they become more
complex, can present significant privacy and security risks. In 2030, as AI integrates into more
areas of society, there is a risk that it could be used to collect and analyze large amounts of
personal data without adequate protection.
Human control: Finally, one of the main ethical challenges associated with AI is the question
of human control. As AI systems become more advanced, there is a risk that they will become
difficult to control or even understand. By 2030, AI will be so advanced that it will be difficult
for humans to control it, which could have significant consequences for society as a whole.
50 | P a g e
There is also the issue of liability, as it can be difficult to determine who is responsible if an AI
system causes harm or makes a mistake. These ethical challenges will need to be addressed
through effective governance frameworks and regulations to ensure responsible and ethical use
of AI.
51 | P a g e
Another important strategy for responsible and ethical AI development is
prioritizing user privacy and data protection. AI systems often rely on large amounts of
personal data to function, and it is important to ensure that this data is collected, stored and
used in a manner that is transparent and respects individual rights. This may include
implementing strict data protection measures and allowing users to control their data, such as
the ability to opt out of data collection or request its deletion.
52 | P a g e
AI and Health
PathAI offers one of the best machine learning and artificial intelligence tools
in healthcare, enabling pathologists to make accurate diagnoses. PathAI reduces errors in the
cancer diagnosis process and offers many new techniques for individualized medical care. With
53 | P a g e
greater accuracy in diagnosing cancer patients, many of them can be treated or cured to a non-
fatal stage, saving many lives.
Chatbots are developed using technologies like NLP, and allow patients to
make their inquiries about appointments, bill payments and more. Chatbots also communicate
with patients regarding illness and symptoms, thereby helping to reduce the burden on medical
professionals. Additionally, chatbots help deliver solutions to patients, allowing healthcare
professionals to focus on other important tasks at hand. This healthcare solution not only
engages patients but also provides them with advanced care and better outcomes.
54 | P a g e
gestures. One of the most useful AI applications in healthcare is providing patients with a
personalized experience in managing their health and clearing their queries. Reduces the
frequency of hospital visits, benefiting both patients and healthcare professionals.
• Targeted treatment
With the help of technologies like deep learning and AI, Benevolent AI was
able to deliver the right treatment at the right time to the patients who need it, resulting in better
patient targeting and insights. The company is working to license its drugs and create portable
drugs for rare diseases.
55 | P a g e
that automates various processes like checking eligibility of unadjudicated medical claims,
transferring required medical data to relevant medical professionals. Olive easily integrates
with a hospital's existing tools and software, eliminating the need for costly downtime and
integrations.
Healthcare is among the next big data frontiers to be tamed. Like a needle in a
haystack, meaningful and valuable data can get lost in a big data pile, costing the industry
billions of dollars a year. Furthermore, without being able to connect meaningful data points,
proper diagnosis and the development of new drugs and medicines are slowed. Data Science
in Healthcare Several healthcare organizations have turned to AI to stem the data
hemorrhaging. AI allows them to break down data and connect the necessary data that took
years to process.
Recently, robotic surgery has become very popular. Hospitals operate several
robots that help complete tasks that require precision, control, and flexibility. It is used for
tasks beyond human capabilities, including open heart surgery. Robots combined with
mechanical arms, cameras and necessary surgical instruments increase the knowledge, skills
and experience of doctors and create a new type of surgery. This allows surgeons to sit at a
computer console and control the robot's mechanical arms, while the robot provides a
magnified, 3D view of the surgical site that your naked eye cannot see. AI-enabled robotic-
assisted surgeries result in fewer complications, less pain for patients, and faster recovery rates.
(Muzondo, 2020)
56 | P a g e
• Improved access to health services
You have
now been aware of 15 applications for artificial intelligence in healthcare. You will now read
about the advantages and disadvantages of this technology in the field of health.
57 | P a g e
Ultimately, AI is expected to improve patient engagement by
providing more personalized and accessible healthcare. AI-powered chatbots and virtual
assistants can be used to provide fast and accurate medical information to patients, reducing
the need for face-to-face interaction with healthcare providers. This improves patient
satisfaction and ensures that patients receive timely medical care.
AI can now reveal patterns in vast quantities of data that are too
subtle or complex for humans to descry. It does so by adding up information from multiple
sources that in 2020 were stuck in silos, including connected home bias, medical records and
decreasingly non-medical data.
In 2030, the ability of healthcare systems to provide truly forward-thinking and predictable
healthcare will be the first significant effect.
58 | P a g e
Understanding the size of the global healthcare challenge Image
59 | P a g e
• Better patient and staff experience
Why is experience so important? For patients, research has long shown that
it can have a direct impact on whether or not they get better. For doctors, improving work
experience became increasingly urgent: A decade ago they began to suffer from high burnout
rates, largely due to the stress of trying to help so many patients with so few resources.
60 | P a g e
To address this, it is important to ensure that AI is not used as a substitute for human care, but
as a tool to improve and support clinical decision-making.
61 | P a g e
AI and Education
62 | P a g e
AI can also be used to identify students at
risk of dropping out or failing, allowing teachers to intervene early and provide needed support.
Additionally, AI-powered chatbots can provide instant support and assistance to students in
their coursework, reducing the burden on teachers and support staff. AI can also be used to
optimize resource allocation, helping schools and universities make informed decisions about
how to allocate resources such as staffing, budgets and facilities to maximize student outcomes.
In the future, AI could play an even bigger role in education, with the potential to revolutionize
the way we learn, teach and assess student progress. However, as with any AI application, it is
important to address potential ethical issues and ensure that the technology is used responsibly
and ethically.
63 | P a g e
platforms will enable the delivery of personalized learning opportunities and training programs
tailored to the specific needs of each employee, helping to close the skills gap and prepare
workers for the jobs of the future.
AI and Society
65 | P a g e
AI is also expected to improve efficiency and productivity in many industries, including
healthcare, transportation and finance. For example, AI can help doctors diagnose and treat
diseases more effectively, reduce traffic congestion by optimizing traffic flow, and detect
fraudulent financial transactions.
The
expected impact of AI on society by 2030 is immense. The integration of AI across industries
and sectors will lead to greater efficiency, productivity and innovation. AI-powered
technologies will help us solve some of the toughest global challenges, including climate
change, healthcare and education. However, there are also concerns about AI's potential
negative impacts on society, including job displacement, privacy violations and exacerbating
existing social inequalities. It will be essential that governments, organizations and individuals
work together to ensure that the benefits of AI are maximized and its negative impacts are
minimized. This will require the development of robust AI governance frameworks, including
policies and regulations that ensure ethical and responsible development and deployment of
AI. Investment in education and retraining programs will also be needed to prepare the
workforce for the changing nature of work and ensure that no one is left behind.
