a) Basic hole system
The desired clearances and interferences in the fit are
achieved by combinations of various shaft tolerance zones with
the basic hole (fundamental deviation "H“ ; EI = 0).

Although both systems are equivalent in the view of functional
properties, the basic hole system is used preferably.
The basic shaft system is used in some cases:
- Many holes are mounted in the plain shaft to obtain different fits
at different portions of the shaft.
