Product Intern Challenge: Enhancing User Engagement and Experience for Padh.

ai

Background:

Padh.ai, an innovative AI-driven app designed to assist UPSC aspirants, has launched a
beta version and gathered initial feedback from a small group of 500 users. The focus
now is on improving retention and user engagement based on the insights gained from
the beta testing phase.

Objectives:

As a Product Intern, my main objective is to identify areas of improvement and propose

enhancements to existing features. The goal is to enhance user experience and drive
higher engagement within the current version of the app.

Task

● Identify 5 bugs or areas of improvement in the

current version of the app.

1. Dynamic User Onboarding Journey:

- Issue: The current onboarding process may not fully capture users' attention and
engagement.

- Proposed Improvement: Introduce an interactive and dynamic onboarding journey that

adapts based on users' preferences. Utilize brief quizzes or interactive elements to personalize
the onboarding experience, ensuring users are immediately engaged with content relevant to
their learning goals.

2. Intelligent Notification System:

- Issue: Users may receive generic notifications that do not cater to their specific needs.

- Proposed Improvement: Implement an intelligent notification system driven by machine

learning algorithms. The system should analyze users' interactions, preferences, and study
patterns to deliver highly personalized and timely notifications, keeping users informed and
engaged with content aligned to their interests.
3. Adaptive Learning Challenges:

- Issue: While the app provides valuable educational content, there may be opportunities to
enhance user motivation.

- Proposed Improvement: Introduce adaptive learning challenges that dynamically adjust

difficulty levels based on users' performance. By providing challenges that align with users' skill
levels and progressively increasing complexity, the app can keep users motivated and
continually challenge them to improve.

4. Interactive Practice Sessions:

- Issue: Practice sessions may feel static, lacking interactive elements.

- Proposed Improvement: Integrate more interactive features within practice sessions, such
as real-time feedback, hints, or collaborative challenges, to make the learning process dynamic
and engaging.
5. Community Building and Collaboration:

- Issue: Limited emphasis on community building and user collaboration.

- Proposed Improvement: Introduce community features, such as discussion forums, study

groups, or collaborative projects, to foster a sense of belonging and encourage users to interact
and learn together.

These combined points aim to create a more engaging, personalized, and community-driven
learning experience within the app.

● Pick one feature of the app and improve the

user journey to drive higher engagement.
○ Propose changes/additions to existing features. Do not propose new
features.
Feature: "Duel"

Current User Journey:

- Users initiate Duels with multiple steps, potentially causing friction.

Proposed Improvement:

1. Duels Mastery Progress:

- Addition to Existing Feature: Create a mastery progress tracker for each user.

- Why: Display a visual representation of users' mastery levels in different subjects based on
their performance in Duels over time. This progress tracker can motivate users to consistently
engage in Duels to see improvements in their knowledge areas.

2. Dynamic Duel Opponent Matching:

- Change/Improvement: Enhance the Duel opponent matching algorithm.

- Why: Implement a more dynamic matching system that considers users' skill levels, past
performance, and preferred subjects. This improvement ensures that Duels are challenging yet
fair, contributing to a more satisfying user experience.

3. Duels Insightful Feedback:

- Addition to Existing Feature: Provide insightful feedback on each question after a Duel.

- Why: Offer detailed explanations for correct and incorrect answers, helping users
understand the reasoning behind each question. This additional educational layer enhances the
learning experience and encourages users to actively reflect on their performance.

4. Time-Based Duels Challenges:

- Addition to Existing Feature: Introduce time-based challenges for Duels.

- Why: Encourage users to improve their speed and efficiency by participating in challenges
where they compete against the clock. This gamification element adds a competitive edge and
diversifies the Duel experience.
5. Social Integration for Duels:

- Addition to Existing Feature: Enable social features within Duels, such as sharing
achievements.

- Why: Allow users to share their Duel achievements, scores, or challenges on social media or
within the app's community. This fosters a sense of community and friendly competition, driving
higher engagement.

These proposed improvements aim to further enrich the Duel feature, providing users with a
more personalized, educational, and socially interactive experience.
