Meaning
Function: The function of art refers to its purpose or intended role within a particular context. It encompasses the reasons why
the artwork is created and the role it plays in society or within the art world. The function of art can vary widely, ranging from
aesthetic enjoyment and self-expression to social commentary, cultural preservation, or political activism. The function of a
specific artwork can be influenced by the artist's intentions, the historical or cultural context, and the expectations of the
audience.

Concept: The concept in visual arts refers to the underlying idea or intellectual framework behind an artwork. It represents the
artist's intended message, the central theme, or the conceptual basis upon which the artwork is created. Artists often explore and
communicate their concepts through various artistic techniques, symbolism, and visual elements. The concept can encompass a
wide range of subjects, including personal experiences, societal issues, philosophical concepts, or explorations of form, colour,
and composition. It is the conceptual aspect that gives depth and meaning to the artwork beyond its visual representation.

Context: The context of the artist in visual arts encompasses the external factors that surround and influence the creation,
interpretation, and reception of an artwork. It includes the historical, social, cultural, and political circumstances that shape the
artist's perspective and the way the artwork is perceived. The context can also refer to the physical environment or exhibition
space in which the artwork is displayed. Understanding the context is crucial for comprehending the artist's intentions, the
cultural references embedded in the artwork, and the dialogue it engages with the broader artistic, social, or historical discourse.
