“Primary Colors”

I. Objectives:
A. Cognitive: Identify primary color; distinguish primary and secondary colors as well
as their relationship to each other.
B. Affective: Appreciate the beauty of colors, Analyze how color can be used to
express feelings.
C. Psychomotor: Label the primary color.

II. Subject Matter:


A. Topic: Primary and secondary colors
B. Materials: Charts, watercolor, coupon bond, video presentation, water, and food
color.

III. Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities
a) Greetings:
Another day, another fun, another
learning!
Hi grade 1! I am teacher Jho your grade
one teacher.
May I request everyone to stand up and
join me in our morning prayer.
Let’s bow our heads, close your eyes and
let’s us pray.

Angel of God, my guardian dear to, to


whom God’s love commits me here, ever
this day be at my side, to light and guard
to rule and guide. Amen.

Good morning grade 1! Good Morning Teacher! Good Morning


Can you show me your big smile? classmates!
That’s it! Because today is a bright day let’s
have an energizer in order for us to be alive
today.

Thank you for all who participated! Now
before you take your seats please arrange
your chairs properly and pick up some
garbage under your chairs.

Did you know that if you mix the two types
of colors, you can create new colors? Now,

of colors?

Very Good! It’s primary and secondary
colors.

Now we will talk about primary color.


(Show the different colors using food color
mix in water)
Do you have any idea about the primary
colors? Anyone? Color yellow teacher

Yes?

Very Good! We have color yellow.


Another one? Color red teacher

Yes? Please stand up

Very Good! Color red!


Now last one we have? Blue teacher
Yes? Stand up

These are the primary colors.

We have Blue, Yellow, and Red

Since we already know about the primary


color such as Blue, Yellow, and Red.

Now when we mix the two primary colors


we can make new hue or color that is
called Secondary colors.

For example if we combine together the


color red and color blue, what do you
think the new color?

Anyone?
Violet teacher
Yes? Please stand up

Very Good it’s color violet!


This is the example of secondary color

Another class if we combine color red and


color yellow, what do you think the new
color?

Orange teacher
Very good! It would be color orange.That is
another example of secondary colors.

Another one if we combine the color


yellow and blue what do you think the

Green teacher
Very Good! If we combine the color yellow
and blue, the possible color is green.

Very Good children! Clap your hands!


Those are the secondary colors.

If we combine two colors like blue and red

C. Practice:
Arranging primary and secondary colors.

I have here an Ice cream cones. I will call


each one of you to place the Ice cream to
it’s corresponding cone.
