1. Explain the Secondary and Primary memory of a Computer with an example for each.
Ans. Primary memory. It is called internal memory. It is also called Volatile memory (data
stored on it gets erased automatically when the computer is shut down). It is the main
memory. Directly accessed by the CPU. Primary memory is of two types: RAM and ROM.
Secondary Memory: The memory where the data is stored permanently. It is also called
Non-Volatile Memory (The data stored on it is not lost even after the computer is shut

down. It is also known as external memory. For example, Hard disk, floppy, compact
disc, flash drive, Blu-ray disc, multimedia card, etc.
