FEE WAIVER APPLICABLE FOR BME, CIE, CHE, ELE, EIC, MEE, MEC BRANCHES of BE/BTech PROGRAMME

Thapar Institute will be offering a fee waiver to meritorious students seeking admission to the branches
BME, CIE, CHE, ELE, EIC, MEE, MEC of BE/BTech programme as per the following details.
(I) Students with a PCM score >= 80% will be eligible for a 30% waiver on Tuition Fee.

(II) Students with a PCM score > 75%, but less than 80% will be eligible for a 20% waiver on
Tuition Fee.

This fee waiver will continue if the student maintains an AGPA of 8.5 or more at the completion of
each academic year.
 NOTE:(I) Students whose study extends beyond the period shown above shall continue to pay
the fee at the same rate of their last fee shown.

(II) Institute reserves the right to revise the fee and other charges at any stage.

(III) The fees mentioned above in the following years will be applicable to the students
who get admission in the session 2023-24. This will not be applicable to the future
batches.

(IV) The student will have to pay additional per subject fee for the backlog subjects or
subjects taken for improvement, if taken during the regular/summer semesters.

(V) Students admitted under International Engineering Programme (IEP) shall pay first two
years at the rate of 1.5 times of the normal fee as applicable to normal TIET students in
that session and for balance two years, the amount of fee shall be as prescribed by
the respective foreign university for that session.

NOTE: (I) The above-mentioned fee shall also be applicable in all subsequent years and students
whose study extends beyond the period shown above shall continue to pay the fee at the
same rate of their last fee shown. Further note that the NRI fee should not be less than the
fee chargeable to Indian students in any year/years.

(II) Students admitted under International Engineering Programme (IEP) shall pay first two years
as applicable to normal TIET (FN/NRI) students and for balance two years, the amount of
fee shall be as prescribed by the foreign University for that session for study at Foreign
University. In case, student fails to meet the academic requirements or opts out of the IEP
program for any unforeseen reason, he/she will pursue the TIET branch in the 3rdand4thyear
with payment of FN/NRI fee prescribed by TIET.

Notes: -
(i) All Hostel dues are subject to change due to inflation or revision of tariffs even for
students already enrolled. The above hostel fee is applicable for the year 2023-24
only.
(ii) The Hostel accommodation/type of accommodation including AC Room will be
provided programme wise and year wise by Dean, Student Affairs subject to
availability of Rooms.
(iii) Laundry service is free for hostel students.
(iv) Hostel fee for 6-weeks summer training will be applicable only for new students.
(v) The DOSA (Dean of Student Affairs) shall deal with all the matters related to
functioning of hostels.
(vi) No part payment of fee is permitted.
