Konkuk University was established in 1931 and is a leading private institution in education and
research. Konkuk University has two campuses; main campus in Seoul and GLOCAL campus in
Chungju, which was established in 1980.

The university is particularly known for its art and design, biomedicine, business administration,

Student Program

Begin your Journey at KONKUK

International students may pursue their studies at Konkuk for a semester or two as an exchange
student from a partner university or a self-sponsored visiting student. During 2021-2022,
Konkuk hosted exchange and visiting students from 45 countries, including students from
Stony Brook University in the United States, Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil, Sciences
Po Grenoble in France, University of Münster in Germany, University of Groningen in the
Netherlands, Orebro University in Sweden, University of Southern Denmark in Denmark, Chuo
University in Japan, and City University of Hong Kong.

SummerㆍWinter Program

Experience at KONKUK
International Summer/Winter Programs are two-to-six-week programs that provide opportunities
to learn about Korea and experience its culture. During their vacation, students can take both
academic and language courses and participate in various cultural programs and extracurricular
activities to gain a deeper understanding of the past and present of Korea.

Eligibility and Application

• Students enrolled at an accredited college or university
• Able to take courses in English and/or Korean
• Students from partner universities should consult with their home university’s international
office for discount eligibility (15% reduction on session fees)

Study Abroad at KONKUK

Each year, students from around the world come to pursue their undergraduate or graduate
degrees at Konkuk University. In 2022, a total of 1,261 undergraduate students and 386 graduate
students from 41 countries, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Canada, Spain
and Sweden, enrolled to study Business Administration, Media & Communication, Film & Moving
Image, and Apparel Design, among others.

KONKUK
Language Institute

Konkuk Language Institute (KLI) started as an audiovisual

education center in 1971 and was reorganized as a language
institute in 1990. To this day, KLI has been a representative
language institute in Korea for more than 40 years.
KLI offers a variety of foreign language courses including Korean,
English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, etc. to cultivate
global talents. Also, KLI tries to disseminate the excellence of
Hangeul to foreigners in Korea from all around the world through
Korean courses.
Students who have achieved Level 3 or higher in Korean
language courses with satisfied requirements for undergraduate
admission will be guaranteed for their admission.

KU:L House
Your New Residence Life

Konkuk University’s on-campus residence halls are collectively called KU:L House, where KU:L
stands for “KU Leaders.” Opened in 2006, KU:L House has four main residence halls – Dream
Hall, Frontier Hall for female students, Lake Hall and Vision Hall for male students. KU:L House
can accommodate up to 3,000 Korean and international students, the highest number among
universities in Seoul.

ㆍEach room with a private bathroom is furnished with air conditioner, two single beds with bed sheets, pillows,
desks, chairs, lamps and wardrobes.
ㆍTelephone and free WiFi are provided.
ㆍVarious facilities (lounge, laundry room, 24-hour convenience store, café, bakery, Global ATM) are available.
