Open Access Charges:

The following charges are applicable to open access consumers / generators.


The bill will include the following charges:
i) Wheeling Charges / Transmission Charges, as may be applicable;
ii) Cross Subsidy Surcharge, as may be applicable;
iii) Additional Surcharge on the Charges of Wheeling;
iv) Standby Charges;
v) Voltage Surcharge, as may be applicable;
vi) Operating Charges;
vii) Energy Banking charges in kind for infirm RE only;
viii) Charges in case of drawl from the grid.
ix) Application Processing Fee.
ix) Any other charge or other sum recoverable.
The existing various Open Access charges are as under:

The MERC in case no. 48 of 2016 dated 03.11.2016 has determined Wheeling
Charges /losses, Cross subsidy surcharge and additional surcharge on wheeling

Additional Surcharge on wheeling:
All Open Access consumers except captive self-use shall pay Rs. 1.11/unit
as additional surcharge on wheeling.

Operating Charges:
For Open Access Capacity <= 5 MW: Rs. 10,000 / Month.
For Open Access Capacity > 5 MW: Rs. 20,000 / Month.

Energy Banking Charges:


Banking Charges shall be in kind @ 2% of the energy banked.
