4. Click OK to close the Internet Tools window, and click OK to close the
Add/Remove Programs window.
ICS launches a setup wizard to guide you through the process.

5. Select Dial-up connection if you will be using a modem and telephone line
or ISDN; select High-speed connection if you will be using a network
adapter, ADSL, or Ethernet.
6. The setup wizard prompts you to create a Client Configuration Disk.
The Client Configuration Disk enables you to set up additional computers
(clients) on your home network. After you have created the disk, use it to
configure computers you wish to include on your home network.
After installation is complete, your computer will restart.

4. To display the ICS Control Panel icon in the taskbar, check the Show Icon
in Taskbar box.
The ICS Control Panel icon appears in the taskbar in the lower right-hand corner or
your computer screen.

• Status. The number of computers using the Internet connection (see note).
• Options. Displays the ICS Control Panel.
• Disable Internet Connection Sharing. Disables Internet Connection Sharing.
Note: It can take up to 15 minutes before ICS shows the correct number of
connections. This is because ICS holds Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and
User Datagram Protocol (UDP) ports open for a client for up to 10 minutes after
the activity on that port has stopped. When a port is open for a client, ICS counts
the port as a connected client. The count of connected computers is updated after
the port is closed.
The ICS Control Panel does not allow you to control logging, open special ports,
control Client network access (other than to shut off ICS), or control ICS’ DHCP
server.

2. Click OK.
3. Select Extract one file from installation disk, and enter Inetcpl.cpl in the
Specify the system file you would like to restore dialog box.
4. Click Start.
5. In the Restore From box, enter the drive letter and path to the Windows 98
Second Edition CD-ROM folder.
6. In the Save File In box, enter the full path to the \Windows\System folder,
and click OK.
