Yasini Twaha Omary is proposing a project to develop an automatic method of protecting distribution transformers as an alternative to the traditional fuse protection technique. The existing fuse-based system has drawbacks like only providing one-time protection, lacking fault monitoring and reporting, and being slow. The purpose of the proposed project is to create a more effective, reliable, and remotely controlled protection method. Specifically, the aim is to build an electronic device that can protect transformers from faults, report event data to the utility company, and be remotely controlled and monitored. The objectives are to provide a more flexible, accurate, compact, and affordable protection system with additional functions like event recording.

EEU 08107 PROJECT PROPOSAL. NTA LEVEL 8 Proposed date: 30/11/2023; Proposed by: YASINI TWAHA OMARY (KIST/BEE/20/0026) TITLE PROJECT
“Automatic method of protecting
transformer as an alternative to the fuse protection technique” PROBLEM STATEMENT The existing system or technique of protecting distribution transformers against faults which is a fuse technique, has some drawbacks in it’s operation and other points of view. Those drawbacks can be mentioned as;- -It provides one time protection. -Lack of fault events and report monitoring. -Low response. -It takes too long time during re-fixing work. Then due to those drawbacks we should have alternative method of protecting distribution transformers against faults that can eradicates those drawbacks of existing traditional method PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT To ensure maximum, effective, reliable, relevant, long – time, automatic and remotely controlled protection method of a distribution transformer against faults. AIM OF THE PROJECT To build an electronics device with capability of remotely controlled and Data Acquisition to protect distribution transformer from faults and reporting the faults event to the utility company. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT To provide greater flexibility, high accuracy, reduced size, lower cost protection method with ancilliary functions such as event recording monitoring and control. ADVANTAGES OF THE PROJECT -Provides long-time protection. -Provides high response. -saves time. -Reduces manpower. -Reduces the unnecessary costs. APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT -In distribution transformers. -In electrical distribution system. -For large Motors.
