It is stated that the project of a hospital with 100 bed capacity is planned to be
established in Karachi with the primary objective to improve healthcare facilities
in the city. The site allocated for the project is located in north Nazimabad,
Karachi that is accessible through Shahrah-e-Sher Shah Suri. The proposed
area/land consists park and commercial market which will require acquisition of
land and resettlement involve in project.
The Karachi, a vibrant and rapidly growing metropolis, is continually facing the
challenge of providing quality healthcare services to its burgeoning population.
In response to this need, plans have been set in motion to construct a state-of-
the-art 100-bed hospital in the city.
The climate of Karachi city is mostly moderate and the underground water is
saline, non-portable and water table is 300 feet deep approximately from
ground surface. There is no surface water flowing through the project site.
The scope of EIA aspects are air quality, water resources, biodiversity,
greenery, traffic, transportation, community engagement and waste
management.
Environmental impact assessment (EIA) is a vital process that evaluates the
potential environmental, social, and economic consequences of a development
project. The primary objectives are identifying and assessing the potential
environmental impacts associated with the construction, operation and taking a
mitigation measure.
