ZRNC

This document provides instructions on how to use the RNC command to create a number modification in an RNC system. The RNC command defines a special route for number modification and how the number will be modified on that route. It also specifies whether the call will route to an external route or analysis tree after modification. Parameters are provided to define aspects of the number modification like which digits to remove or add, and where to route the call after modification. The user must ensure any external routes or analysis trees used properly handle the modified number.

RNC - CREATE NUMBER MODIFICATION

Function
Use this command to create a number modification. In the command, define a special route for the number modification
and specify how dialling is modified on this special route.
In addition, specify in the command where the call is routed after to the number modification: to an external route or
analysis tree. Also, check that the external route or analysis tree used for the number modification directs the dialling to
the correct address after the number modification. If you use an external route, check, for example, that the start point of
dialling (parameter STP) set for the external route is valid for the modified number. If you use an analysis tree, check that
the tree has a valid analysis for the modified number and, for example, that the seizure point (parameter SP) defined for
the analysis is valid for the modified number.
Choose a new (available) special route for the new number modification case. Give command RNI to check which
numbers have already been reserved.
Note that special routes are also used for other purposes, such as announcements. Give command RAI to check which
special routes have been reserved for announcements.
Also, check that the external route or analysis tree used for the number modification directs the dialling to the correct
address after the number modification. To do this, check the parameters for the external route (command RRI) or the
destination to which the tree that you are using leads.

Use this parameter to identify the analysis tree from which the analysis is continued after a number modification.
TREE = analysis tree number
The parameter can also accept the value SAME, which refers to the tree from which the number comes to number
modification. If the value is SAME, the number must be modified.
default analysis tree <optional>
Use this parameter to identify the default analysis tree from which the analysis is continued if the analysis is not obtained
from the analysis tree TREE.
DTREE = default analysis tree number
If you give a value to the default analysis tree when creating a number modification, you must also give a value to the
analysis tree (TREE). DTREE and TREE must not have the same values.
If DTREE receives the value SAME, analysis is continued from the same tree from which the number comes to the
number modification. The value SAME must not be used if the number is not modified.
Examples
1 To create a number modification for special route 80, give the command below. Three digits are removed
. from the number sequence, starting from the second number.The external route is 12. The modified
number sequence is transmitted to the statistics. The exchange type is SSP.Set national as the number
type.

RNC:SPR=80:SRD=2,NRD=3,TON=ITSI:TREE=2;

Semantic error messages
/*** SPECIAL ROUTE IN OTHER USE ***/
The given special route has already been reserved for other use, for example for announcements. You can check the
numbers reserved for announcements by using the interrogation command RAI.
/*** ILLEGAL DIGIT ***/
The digit you have entered is not allowed.
/*** ILLEGAL AREA CODE ***/
The exchange does not have the given area code.
In addition, the standard semantic error messages of the MMI system are in use.
When using the general semantic error messages, the number modification MML program (SPNUMO) outputs the
following texts as additional information:
/*** COMMUNICATION ERROR BETWEEN XX AND YY IN MSG ZZ ***/
XX = transmitting program block
YY = receiving program block
ZZ = message number
A message connection to the program block cannot be created (the general error message is either ERROR IN SENDING
A MESSAGE or MESSAGE TRANSFER FAILURE).
Execution error messages
/*** CREATION NOT POSSIBLE ***/
/*** error text ***/
The error text describes the error in more detail. The following error texts are possible:
/*** SPECIAL ROUTE IN OTHER USE ***/
A number modification cannot be created, as the special route already exists (but it is not a number modification).
/*** NUMBER MODIFICATION EXISTENT ***/
A number modification cannot be created because it already exists.
/*** MAXIMUM NUMBER LENGTH IS EXCEEDED
WITH THIS PARAMETER COMBINATION ***/
The number of digits in parameters SAD, DIG, SRD, and NRD exceeds the maximum number length.
In addition, the standard execution error messages of the MMI system are in use.
When using the general execution error messages, the MML program outputs the following texts as additional
information:
/*** COMMUNICATION ERROR BETWEEN XX AND YY IN MSG ZZ ***/
XX = transmitting program block
YY = receiving program block
ZZ = message number
A message connection to the program block cannot be created (the general error message is MESSAGE TRANSFER
FAILURE).
