The reason I chose Education as my profession was because I realized that was the
main career path I wanted during my last 2 high school years. I wanted to be in the
educational field. I went back and forth between first grade or special education. It
inspired me to want to work with kids because I would help teachers in my last 2 years
of high school with students who had special education classes. It was very
challenging and rewarding helping these students learn a new skill or ability. It was
challenging because their learning was different from mine but they would learn in their
own way and it was rewarding seeing them succeed and be happy that they finally
learned it.
When teaching, my main strategies that will be implementing are hand on learning
because I know a lot of students learn better that way also having a great curriculum
that my students can understand and learn in fun ways that will keep them interested in
wanting to learn more everyday when they come to my classroom.
In order for me to succeed in this career path I need to have better knowledge in
building a great curriculum that will work for my students. Have a creative problem
solving backup solution that I will perhaps need during a situation. Time management
is very important to me and staying very well organized with my classroom lectures
and my students. I’m really great at multitasking so I know that will help me in my
teaching career path. Having great communication skills. If I had the opportunity to
start working as an assistant teacher I could start getting much more experience in my
teaching degree to succeed even better. I can have better results and get all the
experience that I need to achieve my teaching degree in the future. My main goal now
is getting all the education and experience that I need to be able to start my career as a
successful 1st grade teacher.
