Anıtkabir: A Symbol of Turkish Pride and

Unity
Antkabir, which means'memorial coffin' in
Turkish, is one of the most important and
recognizable places in Turkey. The final resting
place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder and
first Turkish president, is situated at Antkabir, a
town in the country's capital Ankara. In addition to
the mausoleum, Antkabir has become an
expression of Turkey's pride, unity and a mark of
Atatrk's indelible impact on its history and identity.
Anıtkabir was commissioned shortly after

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's passing in 1938, with
its construction lasting for several years.
Architectural ingenuity and a deep respect for
Atatürk's legacy guided the design and
construction process. The mausoleum complex
is an architectural marvel, blending elements of
