    ADDENDUM

    It was informed vide Commission’s Notification No.12/2022, dated:03/09/2022


    for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Executive Engineers in various Engineering
    Departments that the Commission reserves the right to conduct the Examination
    either through Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) OR Offline OMR Based
    Examination of Objective Type.
    After cancellation of OMR based written examination held on 22/01/2023 FN &
    AN, the revised date for conduct of AEE (Civil Engg) examination was announced on
    29/03/2023 that the examination will be held on 21/05/2023 FN & AN in OMR based
    Test. The Commission after thorough examination of the matter have now decided to
    conduct the examination in CBRT mode.
    It is hereby informed that 44,352 candidates applied for the post of AEE (Civil
    Engg). At present, the capacity available to conduct the CBRT examination in a
    single shift is not adequate to conduct examination for 44,352 candidates. Therefore,
    the Commission decided to conduct the CBRT examination in Multi Shifts mode.
    Further, the Commission has decided to normalize the scores of candidates for
    the Computer Based examinations which are conducted in multi-shifts to take into
    account of any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different
    shifts. The procedure for allocation of examination shift to candidates is random.

    The following formula will be used by the Commission to calculate final score of
    candidates in the multi-shift examinations. This formula is largely used by various
    organizations and recruitment agencies viz., SSC & RRB etc., and also recommended
    by the Experts Committee constituted by the Commission.

    N.B. 1. Calculation of normalized marks will be done up to 5 decimal places.


    2. Normalized marks of the candidate may vary from the original marks obtained.
    3. In case of exceptional conditions where disruption of the examination
    happens due to unforeseen conditions in any center in any shift, the
    examination will be reconducted along with new shift for those candidates
    only whose examination got disrupted. If the disruption happens in the last
    shift, examination will be reconducted for those candidates only whose
    examination got disrupted and the modality of Normalization of marks of such
    candidates shall be decided by the Expert Committee to be constituted by the
    Commission. Decision of the Expert Committee is final. However, improper
    behaviour by any candidate will attract punishment as per rules.
