2. Photo identification
Instructions
Mobile phones must be turned off completely (not placed on silent mode) upon
entry to the exam building and for the duration of the exam. Candidates must not
have access to their phone during the exam. Phones may be accessed and switched
on only when candidates leave the exam venue.
The exam
The exam takes approximately three hours to complete.
With breaks and time allowed for instructions, please allow for up to 3.5 hours from
the exam start time before candidates leave the exam venue.
The exam comprises of a series of tests including multiple choice questions and
written tasks:
o Reasoning – Reading (35 mins)
o Reasoning – Mathematics (30 mins)
o Short break (20 mins)
o General ability – Verbal (30 mins)
o General ability – Quantitative (30 mins)
o Short break (5 mins)
o Writing (40 mins)
Prior to commencing each test, candidates will have the opportunity to sit practice
questions to ensure they have an understanding of what to expect in that test.
Arrival procedures
Candidates must provide their printed admission ticket upon arrival. They
cannot be admitted without it. Printed admission tickets must be displayed on
candidate’s desks during the exam.
Candidates should arrive within one hour of, and no later than 30 minutes prior to, their
designated exam starting time.
Candidates will not be admitted to the venue MORE than one hour prior to their exam
start time.
Parents/carers will not be permitted entry to the exam venue at any time and
cannot attend the registration desk.
On arrival, candidates will have their admission ticket checked against their online
application. Registration clerks will check identification and log ID against the
candidate’s online application.
Candidates will then be directed to their exam space.
Candidates will sit at numbered desks. The candidate must place their admission
ticket below the desk number. Supervisors will check desk numbers against
admission tickets as candidates are seated. Students will then receive verbal
instructions.
Departure procedures
Parents should pick up candidates from the same access points used for drop off or
as agreed prior.
Candidate departure may be staggered to aid with traffic management and ensure
safe movement of candidates and vehicles.
Whilst all candidates in a building will finish the exam at the same time, it will take
some time to safely release all candidates for pick up, so please be patient.
You must follow the directions of all traffic personnel in order to safely return
candidates to parents/carers and avoid traffic congestion.
Please remember that candidates will not have access to their mobile phones until
after they access the exam venue.
In pick up and drop off zones, parents/carers are required to stay in their vehicles.
