TOUR GUIDING SCRIPT/FORMAT

Welcoming Tourists The tour guide will welcome the tourists, she/he introduce
herself/himself as their tour guide and introduce also the captain
in the trip. Before they leave the tour guide will count the tourists

TOUR GUIDE: Hello everyone, (good morning/a=ernoon) are you


all excited with your tour? I can’t hear you… are you all excited?

TOURISTS: YES!!!

TOUR GUIDE: Ok!, well me too, let us first do the head count to
know if we are complete, 1,2,3,…… 30. Ok, we are complete. But
before we begin let me first welcome you all in the beauQful (state
desQnaQon). In behalf of (state the name travel agency you’ve
work), (state your name), but you can call me (your nickname). I
am your official tour guide for today who will give you (add your
own sentence). And with me is our very
(friendly/kind/humble/gwapo/pogi etc..) coach captain, (state the
name of your captain). Say hi to Kuya/Captain (state the name of
captain)

TOURISTS: Hi kuya/captain (name)

TOUR GUIDE: great!!! We will be your companions for the rest of


the day. You can always approach us if you need any help.
Pre-Arrival AcCviCes and The tour guide will give reminders to the tourists before they start
Reminders the acQviQes.

TOUR GUIDE: but before we proceed there are some friendly


reminders and safety precauQons that I want you to know so that
our tour will be smooth flowing and hassle free. So kindly keep in
mind my reminders:
1. Frist, synchronize your Qme with my Qme so that no one
will be le= behind, the Qme with me is 8:00 AM.
2. Second, I have with me my whistle, if you hear me whistle
once, that means we are going to line up in front of the bus
because we are heading to our next top.
3. Third, I have with me a flag that I will wave to locate me
easier.
4. Forth, I also have with me a first aid kit in case of
emergency.
5. And last, observe a body-body system, walk in pair so that
no one will get lost.
So we are about to start our very exciQng tour. But nothing would
be possible without the presence of the almighty Father.
Opening Prayer Before we go on with our trip, may I request everyone to bow our
head and feel the presence of the Lord. (just add very short prayer)
Head count We are now ready to go, may we have the final count 1, 2, 3,….30
so, we have all in all 30 tourist/visitors plus me, your tour guide.
Discussing the ICnerary The tour guide will give a review about iQnerary for their trip, give
informaQon about the desQnaQon. Where to start and end or
meet…

TOUR GUIDE: Let me give you a review about out iQnerary for
today, we are now leaving our jump-off point which (state your
desQnaQon)
Sample: We are now leaving our jump-off point which is the
Capitol. Our first desQnaQon will be the People’s Museum and
Library, adjacent to it is the St. Dominic Cathedral. A=er visiQng the
Cathedral, we will pass through the Bay Walk going to the Citrus
Alley. Then we will go to Carlota’s Bee farm and Resort then back
to the Provincial Capitol.
Describing the LocaCon TOUR GUIDE: I will give you first a brief history of (state your
Province). ( the tour guide will give descripQon about the province,
history, slogan of the province, culture, religion, etc…)

On-Site Tour The tour guide will give on site descripQon about the on-site-tour.

Sample: Now, on your le= is the Kenny’s Hotel, one of the well-
known and best accommodaQon faciliQes we have in the province.
They also have their restaurant which is the kwarto kantos and café
bar. Also on your le= is the way going to Saint Mary’s University is
the first and only private catholic educaQonal insQtuQon in the
province and etc….
Post departure acCviCes The tour guide will state the name of the company the travel
introducing special agency. And give best special offers to the tourists, tour packages,
events and offers selling Qckets, land tours and etc.
Offering advice The tour guide will advise to the tourist while they are stay in
province. They will give advice what to do and don’t,

Sample:
TOUR GUIDE: if you need to exchange your dollar into pesos,
please use bank or money changer. We don’t recommend
exchanging our money at the hotel because you won’t get a fair
rate. Some restaurant will accept credit or debit card, but you are
beier off to exchange your money and pay with pesos. If you want
to get around the town, we recommend that you take the jeepney
if you want to go to the Mall will cost you 15 pesos. If you decide
to take a tricycle make sure you negoQate a price before you go.
Closing remarks Before the tour will end, the tour guide will end a closing remarks,
and ask any quesQon to the tourist if there is clarificaQon or any
suggesQon during their trip.

Sample:
TOUR GUIDE: it is sad that this mark the end of our very
informaQve tour. Are there any quesQons, clarificaQons or any
suggesQons. Just let me know, ok? I hope everyone enjoyed and
learned a lot from our trip. In behalf (state travel and tour
company), I would like to thank all of you for choosing us to part of
your very unforgeiable journey. I hope to see you again in your
future tours. Enjoy the rest of your days here in (state the
province/desQnaQon) and have a safe trip back home. take nothing
but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. And kill nothing but
Qme. Again, this is (tour guide name) signing off. Thank you and
good bye. It more fun in the Philippine, it more fun in (state your
province/desQnaQon)
Closing prayer The tour guide will end a short closing prayer for the tourist.
Requirements for midterm and final project
Deadline Oct. 23-27, 2023

1. The student will submit their own spiel.


2. The student will submit their tour guiding script.
3. The student will print the # 1 and 2 to be submit on deadline
4. If the student failed to submit before the deadline, project will not accepted anymore

Requirement for final exam


PresentaCon on Oct.23-Dec. 8, 2023

1. The student will Present their desQnaQon through random selecQon (5-10 students)
2. If the student failed to present it shall be equivalent to a ZERO POINT and a grade of 50
3. Grading system will follow the rubric assessment.
4. The student will print the rubric.
5. NO RUBRIC NO PRESENTATION

Requirements during presentaCon:


1. Flag
2. Whistle
3. First aid kit
4. Rubric
