Subject: Research Proposal: The Repercussions of Artificial Intelligence on Computer Science

Topic description: The Research project aims to investigate the recent spike in artificial intelligence and
automation technologies, and how employment in the computer science field may be affected and/or
replaced. The project will seek to identify which careers are susceptible to automation technology, what
skills and strategies are needed for CS professionals to succeed with the arise of AI technology, and lastly,
what are the implications for education and requirements to be a computer scientist.

Documentation Style: I have chosen the MLA format to cite my sources due to its adaptability and ease
of use when sourcing and giving credit to online authors.

Purpose: The purpose of this research topic is personal to me, since I intend to uncover the implications
artificial intelligence will have on my future profession. I also believe technology to be an integral
component of the modern world, thus divulging the affects machine learning has on one of its major
areas of interest can prove to be worthwhile.

Intended audience: Computer science is a very important field in the modern day, due to the reliance
we have developed for technology and all its creations such as: devices, applications, and
communication services. Artificial intelligence will have a profound impact on one of the world's major
industries. I am certain that my chosen topic will interest my audience since technology has grown to be
such a large part of our world in the modern age.

Research Question / Preliminary Thesis / Argument: With the emergent development of artificial
intelligence, what implications does the field of computer science face, pertaining to career
opportunities, future expectations, and education?

Keywords:

- Artificial intelligence, ai, coding, programming, ChatGPT, occupation, education

- Artificial intelligence effect on computer programing
- Arise of ai and impact on education
- Future of computer science occupation with ai
Types of research areas: I will primarily include evidence from internet and field research sources, and if
possible, scholarly sources. The bulk of my research will consist of internet sources due to its accessibility
and wide range of sources. Field research would give me data which consists of the people that primarily
make up my target audience.
