METHODOLOGY
This chapter explains the data collection and analysis methods used in the research.
It is a crucial part of the paper that allows the reader to evaluate the reliability and validity
of the research. The methodology chapter should include the Research Design or Method,
Population and Sample, Instrumentation, Gathering Procedure, and Statistical Treatment of
Data.
has a proper representation and better match the sample to the research aims, enhancing the
study's rigor and the reliability of the data and findings.
Instrumentation
Questionnaire is the instrument which will be used in this study. A questionnaire is
a research instrument consisting of a series of questions and other prompts for the purpose
of gathering information from the respondents.
The questionnaire is the chosen research tool and feedback method because it suits
the nature of the study. Open-ended were also provided to accommodate the free formatted
views related to the topic or issues. In that way, the instrument is authorized to obtain valid
responses from the students.
There were three kinds of questionnaires to be floated to the respondents. The first
questionnaire will be given to the 70 senior students which is composed of two (3) parts.
Part I will gather the profile of the student respondents in terms of their age, gender, family
income, and general point average (GPA). Part II focused on the lifestyle habits of the
respondents in terms of how many hours per day do you spend studying, how often do you
engage in group study sessions, how many days per week do you engage in physical
exercise, and how would you rate your overall mental health. Part III focused on the
Impacts of lifestyle habits among Grade 12 students of Saint Columban's College.
Gathering Procedure
Upon the approval of the research instrument, and establishing the validity and
reliability. The researchers will formally write a letter to the Coordinator of the Senior High
School, Sir John Denver D. Casaclang through the respective School Heads of the Saint
Columban’s College in Lingayen, Pangasinan, for their consent to conduct the study.
The researchers started to conduct the evaluation of the 70 respondents students.
Before answering the questionnaire form, the student first will be oriented from the
researcher about their respective topics. To validate their responses from the instrument, the
researcher will be in their respective classrooms watching over them. After gathering data,

the researchers now collected it for tallying the scores and to apply the statistical treatment
to be used with the study.
Where:
WM = weighted mean
X = number of respondents
F = weight given to each respondent
N = number of cases
Mean, also known as the arithmetic mean, of a list of numbers is the sum of the
entire list divided by the number of items in the list.
1. the formula for finding the mean is:

The t-test for correlated means was used to measure the difference between the
average scores of a single sample of individuals who are assessed at two different times
