Opera FIAS
Interface Requirements
Ensure that Micros Part # IO-5004-293/ IFC_BK4 has been ordered.

Note: It typically takes 4-6 weeks to receive the part and schedule an interface install date.
Therefore, we suggest ordering the micros part and scheduling an install with Opera/Micros as soon
as possible.

This installation must be coordinated between the property IT, the Micros installer and Book4time IT.
It is best if you request a few tentative install dates from Opera/Micros and then confirm availability
with Book4time prior to setting an exact date and time.

Requirements for Interface Hosting PC:


a. Must be on the hotel network.
b. Must remain turned on all times.
c. Must have Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 2003 or Windows 8 with either an IP or serial
d. connection to the PMS.
e. Must have IIS installed.
f. Must have .Net framework 2.0 installed.

Server Requirements
Book4Time Gateway Server Specifications

Note: Can be an existing physical/virtual server as long as the requirements listed below are met

A. Server Hardware Configuration


• Hard Drive Minimum 50GB Free Space
• 4GB RAM Minimum
• Intel Xeon X3430 2.4G equivalent or greater
B. Server Software Requirements
• Windows 2008 R2 64-bit Server or Newer
o IIS
o .Net Framework 4.0
o .Net Framework 2.0
• Remote desktop access enabled or other suitable remote access software
• Must be setup with static IP and server name which does not change

Note: No other applications or services must be running in IIS to avoid interface/COM conflicts
Pre-Installation Guide
When completing the Pre-Installation Guide for the interface between Opera and Book4Time please
follow the guidelines below:

1. Only 8 itemizers are listed with unique transaction codes. If a transaction code is repeated,
confirm with property finance.
2. POS payment (Tender Media Number) is filled out by Book4Time therefore, please ensure
this is done prior to the form being sent to Micros (Oracles) by the property. This can be any 1
or 2-digit number except 0. It is recommended to use a standard numbering sequence for all
properties (i.e. Cash is 1, Visa is 2, etc.).
3. Please ensure that there is a transaction code assigned for Tax and Gratuity as well as Service
charge if applicable.
4. If more than one revenue center exists, please ensure this is listed separately to ensure all
itemizer categories are captured.
5. Account # (Posting Master) and Transaction Code (Dept Code) within the Tender area must be
filled out by Property to ensure Micros (Oracle) has all the information required to complete
their configuration.
Install Checklist
This is to be reviewed and completed by the property before the interface test and setup with
Book4Time. All items listed must be completed.

Items Completed
Pre-Installation Guide Form has been sent with 8 itemizers, tax setup and
tender set up 10 days before installation.
(Book4Time PMS Interface works with maximum 8 itemizers, 9th itemizer
being the catch all bucket. If you have more itemizers please narrow down
itemizers to 8 only.)
Property and Opera has to be on the scheduled call. If they are both not on
the call, installation with not be done.
Opera needs to have finished their setup correctly based on the Pre-
Installation Guide before Book4Time can perform the Installation and
test.
Property is aware that a server on the property is required for the
Book4Time PMS installation which needs to be setup as a web server. This
may be the same server as the Opera Interface Server. However if Opera
technician has objections regarding the Book4Time interface being
installed on the Opera Interface then the property should have another
server available for use.
If the Book4Time PMS installation is to be done on a Windows XP or
Windows 2003 machine, the property has the proper Operating System CD
on standby as it will be required.

Operating System Installed on the Interface Server:


Property has already installed the IIS with ASP.Net.
IP Address of the Opera Interface Server:

Property should have a test room which should be already checked-in to
allow for testing room charges.
Property have a Front Desk computer at the spa already installed with the
POS package indicated in the POS Installation Guide provided to the
property by the Book4Time Implementation Specialist

meeting will not push through and will be rescheduled. Please return this form to your Implementations
Specialist with your Signature at least 5 days before the Install date.
