REFLECTION NOTES
The LAC session conducted last Thursday was definitely a good refresher to us, teachers
since there has been a lot of changes. Our Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Reynante V. Geraldino shared
his invaluable time and effort to reorient us with updates in the RPMS.
Through DepEd Number 42, s. 2017, Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers
(PPST) has been developed and nationally validated as part of reform initiatives on teacher
quality. PPST set the standards on what teachers should know, be able to do and value to
achieve competence, improved student learning outcomes and eventually quality education. It
also articulated what constitutes teacher quality through well-defined domains, strands and
indicators that provide measures of professional accountability that could help teachers reflect
on and assess their own practices as they aspire for professional growth and development.
After the LAC session, I was able acquire a clearer understanding of the topic and for
me to design implementation strategies as well as strategic framework to provide support
mechanism in the school level. Being a teacher is not an easy task as many people could think.
To be a teacher does not only imply to know the subject to be taught, but it also includes being
willing to constantly improve oneself integrally, as much as updating the resources and
materials one uses in teaching.
Mr. Reynante V. Geraldino leaves a remarkable challenge to the faculty that professional
growth and quality teaching skills of every teacher lies on their mighty hands through leading
with a heart.
