TAS FLIR HD Sensor Upgrade SOW 08NOV2017 - Draft
2.0 Purpose
Due to upcoming obsolescence considerations and newer technological advancements, the FAA
requires the existing CBP RAID Star SAFIRE HD sensor systems (part number 3290004-301) to
be modified/upgraded, FLIR delivered the existing SAFIRE HD systems to the Army under
contract W9113M-05-D-0002. Multiple FLIR high definition sensors systems were delivered
during 2005 and 2006. This upgrade will be to a Star SAFIRE 380HD “Like” configuration. This
upgraded sensor shall perform substantially the same as FLIR’s new procurement Star SAFIRE
380HD’s. These HD Cameras are intended to be used as part of a surveillance system in remote
locations along the U.S. southern border.
Upgraded Services -
The upgrade of the current 1394b Star HD systems to a 380HD-U configuration will include
changes to the turret, laptop control unit and cables. Specifically:

Laser Rangefinder
• Remove the obsolete LRF
• Replace with the Sentinel LRF
• Add miscellaneous cable and hardware to complete the replacement
Addition of:
• New hub assembly specific to 380HD configuration
• New azimuth drive specific to 380HD configuration
• New actuator assembly
• New, 380HD skillet assembly (includes the circuit boards & power conditioning)
A new set of cables specific to the 380HD-U configuration and integration on tower
or aerostat.
4.0 Warranty
The Platinum Service Agreement provides all parts and labor associated with any required repair
during the established time period (8,760 hours – a full one year of 24/7 operation). The service
agreement does cover shipment costs to and from the Portland Oregon facility.
5.0 Shipment
The FAALC will be responsible for coordinating shipment of the HD Cameras to the Aerostat
facilities.

Provide a Star SAFIRE 380HD-U User’s Manual (one per upgrade, for a total of 11)
