Group Project (20%) Introduction To Computer Programming (IT11103/ IT12103)

1) Students will work in groups of 4-5 to build a simple application program from options like stock inventory, point of sale, payroll, etc. 2) The program must use formatting, read/write files, and include selection and repetition control structures as well as user defined functions. 3) Groups will submit a PDF report with the program title, members, description, IPO chart, and input/output samples. 4) Groups will do a 10 minute presentation and be graded on the system components, presentation, and report details for a total of 20% of the course grade.

Group Project (20%)

Introduction to Computer Programming (IT11103/ IT12103)

1) 4-5 students in a group.

2) Build a simple application program of your preference:


a. Stock inventory.
b. Point of sale.
c. Payroll.
d. Enrolment.
e. Airline reservation.
f. Cinema ticketing.
g. Pet shop.
h. Library.
i. Clinic.
j. Supermarket.
k. etc.
Coordinate among the group leaders to ensure that your application program is different from others. The
application program should cover the following:
a. Manipulators for formatting.
b. File input/output to read/write file.
c. Control structures (selection and repetition).
d. User defined functions.

3) Submit one PDF report per group online (LMS):


a. Title and group members (name and student id)
b. Description (objectives, functions etc.) of the application program.
c. Input, processing, output (IPO) chart.
d. Sample (screen shot) of the system input/ output.

4) Presentation: 10 minutes.

5) Your work will be assessed based on the criteria below:
