A5hf1 Intro Part1

The presentation provided an overview of disassembling an A5HF1 transmission. It began with identifying the transmission components and solenoids. It then detailed each step to disassemble the transmission case, including removing accumulators, drums, clutches, bands, and planetary gear sets. The presentation concluded by thanking attendees and advertising the next presentation which will continue covering the internal components.

2007‐09 Entourage 3.8L
2007‐09 Santa Fe 3.3L
2006‐09 Sonata 3.3L

KIA
2006‐09 Amanti 3.5L, 3.8L
2006‐09 Sedona 3.8L

Mitsubishi uses the same type of transmission called the F5A51

These units are assembled in the same manner.
The major difference is the F5A51 uses a 6 solenoid valve body.
The Hyundai/Kia use a 7 solenoid valve body

Accumulator Identification

Pay close attention to the

accumulator bores. These pistons
tend to side load and dig into the
bores.
There are aftermarket pistons that
can be used in slightly worn bores.
If the wear is too bad the case will
need to be replaced.
