Exam EN1 JAN23 - Instructions
1. Written exam:
Mock exam: To get an idea of what the exam will look like, take the mock exam (=examen blanc) on Moodle.
2. Oral exam:
Prepared part:
Choose a businessman/businesswoman/entrepreneur who inspires you greatly. This can be someone
who is still alive today or a historical figure.
Find a news article related to this person (Wikipedia, forums, blogs, etc. are NOT allowed).
On January the 9th, 8:00 AM, upload a document* on Moodle that contains:
o Your name
o The name of the businessman/businesswoman/entrepreneur
o A summary of 150-200 words explaining:
Why you chose this person and why you find him/her inspiring.
A short presentation of this person: what has he/she achieved in his/her life.
o Your news article + the link to the website where you found it.
o *Only Microsoft Word files will be accepted. If you don’t upload the file in time, for whatever
reason, you will have a 0 for the prepared part of the exam.
During the oral exam, we will have a short open discussion about this person, but of course you can
prepare it by working on your summary and opinion. However, don’t quote a text you learned by
heart.
Unprepared part: You will pick a random sheet of paper with your exam questions. You will get questions from
unit 3 (work) and unit 8 (business). Study your vocabulary and have a look at the different topics seen in class
(homeworking, business dilemma, etc.) so you can anticipate the questions.
